  • Why: The recall was initiated over concerns the parking lamp on the recalled F-150 vehicles could flicker under certain conditions, increasing the risk of a crash.
  • Where: The Ford recall affects certain F-150 vehicle owners nationwide.

Ford is recalling more than 16,000 model year 2022 Ford F-150 vehicles over concerns their parking lamp could flicker under certain conditions.

The recall involves certain model year 2022 Ford F-150 vehicles produced between March 11, 2022, and July 23, 2022.

Ford said the parking lamp on the recalled F-150 vehicles could flicker if a driver manually selects the “Position Lamp On” mode, “Headlamp On” mode or when driving with headlamps in “Automatic” mode and the ambient light is low enough to trigger “Night” mode.

“Flickering parking lights can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash,” the Ford F-150 recall says

Ford dealers to replace LED Drive module on recalled F-150 vehicles, free of charge

Ford will remedy the issue by having its dealers replace the LED Driver module on the recalled vehicles, free of charge, according to the Ford F-150 recall.

The automaker said it expects to mail recall notification letters to affected vehicle owners Oct. 7, 2024.

Individuals with more questions about the recall can contact Ford by phone at 1-866-436-7332 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.

Ford issued a separate recall earlier this month for more than 90,000 model year 2021-2022 vehicles equipped with 2.7-liter or 3.0-liter Nano EcoBoost engines over concerns their engine intake valve could break while the vehicle is in use, leading to engine failure and loss of power.
