Disney Store to Give Coupons in Class Action Settlement

By Sarah Pierce

The Children’s Place (now operated as The Disney Store) has agreed to settle a class action lawsuit that claims the retail store violated the Fair and Accurate Credit Transaction Act (“FACTA”) by issuing credit/debit card receipts that contained more than 5 numbers of the credit card and/or the expiration date. If the proposed settlement is approved, you could receive a 30% off coupon valid at any Disney Store retail location.

If you made a credit card purchase at a Disney Store between January 1, 2005 and February 6, 2008 (when the stores were operated by The Children’s Place) and received a printed receipt that contained more than 5 numbers of your credit or debit card and/or the expiration date, you can file a claim. In order to receive the 30% off coupon, you must make sure the claim form is received — not postmarked — by July 27, 2010. Only one coupon will be awarded per household.

You can download a claim form or file one online here. The approval hearing will be held July 27, 2010. For more information visit https://childrensplacefactasettlement.com.
