Consumers Frustrated with Cracked NuWave Oven CoverMany consumers who bought a NuWave countertop oven that they thought would help them in the kitchen later discovered it came with a possibly defective NuWave oven cover. Users of the NuWave oven cover have come forward to lodge complaints and even file lawsuits about the issue.

Owners of the NuWave oven cover allege that the product is prone to cracking, leaving the whole oven unusable. Rather than fixing the issue or being forthcoming about the fact that the cover was likely to crack, the company is accused of continuing to market the cooking tool despite the fact that many buyers had a device rendered useless when the cover cracked.

The NuWave oven cover is made of plastic. Many owners say theyโ€™ve complained to the manufacturer about the cracking issue but have yet to receive a suitable solution or an option to get it fixed. Alternatively, they say the NuWave company has told them they need to pay extra money to upgrade from their standard oven cover to their Power Dome replacement cover.

The versions of the oven that allegedly have problems with a defective NuWave oven cover include the Oven Pro and the Oven Pro plus models. Owners of these NuWave ovens whoโ€™ve reported problems allege that the covers crack with minimal and ordinary use of the oven. They say the company knew about the problems but has failed to offer a satisfactory solution.

Some of the consumers who notified the manufacturer about the allegedly defective NuWave oven cover say they got responses from the company that were unhelpful. Reported responses included statements that no replacements were available, that the consumer would have to pay more money for a Power Dome replacement, or that the consumer would be responsible for costly shipping and handling fees.

Purchasers say the device is marketed as safe, easy and durable for use as an alternative to a traditional oven. Many of the consumers who bought a NuWave oven and later experienced problems say that advertisements for the product explain that the dome is shatter resistant as well, despite reports that it cracks quickly and easily.

Consumers who tried to make the manufacturer aware of the issues claim that the company is knowingly marketing a product that is likely to fail and leaves the buyer with the downside of having to pay for a more expensive model or paying the shipping and handling fees to replace something that should not have failed to begin with.

One lawsuit against the company argued that the manufacturer was engaged in deceptive business practices by purposefully selling a defective product and then leaving consumers to cope with the consequences.ย According to the NuWave oven warranty, the company allegedly promises to replace parts up to one year after the purchase date, which can lead to surprise when a consumer is told they must shell out more money for a replacement or in the form of shipping and handling fees.
