A Bosch class action lawsuit alleges that the auto parts supplier schemed with General Motors, Ford, and Fiat Chrysler to sell diesel vehicles with defective Bosch-created fuel injection pumps that failed to meet American fuel standards and caused engine failure.
The Bosch class action lawsuit was filed based on alleged violations of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act.
In total, more than 50 named plaintiffs filed this Bosch class action lawsuit.
The plaintiffs argue that the Bosch CP4 high-pressure fuel injection pump is to blame for possible dangers and injuries since the pump allegedly fails to conform to American fuel standards.
The Bosch class action lawsuit says that the fuel pump falls short in a few ways, especially when it comes to established specs and standards for water content and lubrication.
In addition to those issues, the plaintiffs in the lawsuit argue that the pump itself fails to raise a volume of fuel appropriate enough to lubricate itself.
Allegedly, the pump then runs dry because air bubbles inside the system cause metal to meet metal. Metal shavings are then distributed throughout the fuel injection system as well as the engine until the engine fails in full, the Bosch class action states.
At that point in time, even larger pieces of metal can contaminate the fuel delivery system.
According to the Bosch class action lawsuit, this catastrophic level of failure is the most dangerous one and is likely to occur around 100,000 miles. However, some consumers say that it’s happened to them even sooner.
As argued by the plaintiffs, the manufacturer will claim that the failures are caused by fuel contamination, an issue not covered under their existing warranties. This means that the consumers are the ones put at risk and left to cope with trying to fix the problem.
The Bosch class action lawsuit states that the involved plaintiffs purchased vehicles such as Ford and Dodge Ram pickup trucks, the GMC Sierra, and the Chevy Silverado. Many of them say they have had to pay thousands of dollars to address this defect since the manufacturer claims it’s not a warranty issue.
Those plaintiffs have replaced some or all of the fuel pump system including fuel rails and injection lines, the pump, fuel injectors, and the entire high-pressure fuel system.
The consumers in the Bosch class action lawsuit argue they have claims based on fraud by omission, RICO, unjust enrichment, breach of express warranty, and violations of the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act.
The Bosch class action claims that these fuel pumps never worked and that the company knew about it but failed to correct the issue, leaving buyers to pay the price.
The consumers are represented by Robert C. Hilliard of Hilliard Martinez Gonzales LLP and Timothy Michael Morgan of Morgan & Morgan PA.
The Bosch Faulty Fuel Pump Class Action Lawsuit is Hockensmith, et al. v Robert Bosch GmbH, et al., Case No. 6:18-cv-01885, in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.

My cp4 failed 3 times in 31,73 miles and Ford won’t warranty it. The first time was only 4,120 Miles. How do I get in the class action lawsuit?
as a previous Bosch employee and has indepth experience with the control systems of motors and fuel pumps, i can assure that there are serious proplems in this products. they need to take a look into the socalled error managment unit by connecting as a debugger to the microcontroller to read the real errors; not the errors provided by the software!. Bosch is cheating in Hardware and in Software. the Hardware is not fullfilling the state of the art and the safety requirement for such kind of systems. the software is doing much worse. and they are not even giving the real error state when you try to read it via external software, as it is not done usually.
I need to join the class action Lawsuit. On sept. 7, 2022 our 2016 Gmc Sierra Denali 2500 shut down while going 70 miles an hour down Florida turnpike. Engine shut off without any warning leaving us rolling at 70 miles per hour with no power steering . Nearly got hit from behind several times because we had no choice to cut in front of other vehicles going 70 miles per hour . Had it towed to closest dealership . Fuel pump exploded causing catastrophic damage and sending metal shaving throughout entire fuel system. Our repair bill is 16,410.57

I have a 2016 GMC DENALI HD 2500. All in all I’m looking at well over 11000 dollars just to get my truck back up an running not to mention lost wages of $4600.00 for a week an a half.
