A father has filed an SAT class action lawsuit based on claims that the test answers were leaked.

The majority of colleges around the United States use the SAT exam or another standardized test in order to make admissions decisions for individual students.

The SAT exam includes reading multiple choice questions, writing and language test multiple choice questions, an optional essay, and math test multiple choice questions and grids.

As argued in the SAT class action lawsuit, students spend ample time and money in order to prepare for these standardized tests given the weight they hold in the college admissions process.

According to the SAT class action lawsuit, the terms and conditions accepted by a student signing up for the test explain that the College Board acknowledges their desire for each student to have a fair and equitable opportunity.

The plaintiff initiated this SAT class action lawsuit on behalf of his minor daughter as well as all other students who took the SAT exam on Aug. 25 and Aug. 26, 2018.

News emerged shortly after students finished taking this test with information that the test answers may have been leaked online in advance.

In response, the College Board shared that they would cancel the scores of anyone they believed to be cheating and would even consider blocking some students who cheated from ever taking the test again.

A tweet mentioned after the test that the booklet had been leaked in South Korea and China in advance. Although the College Board said there was no firm proof yet regarding this alleged cheating schedule, Chinese nationals were involved in a federal investigation surrounding a cheating ring in Pennsylvania.

That was based on allegations of students at an elite high school who were paying thousands out to a college student for that student to take the exam on their behalf. A 2016 investigation held by Reuters found that the College Board continued to give out SAT tests including answers that were widely available on the internet.

According to the current claim, a previous version of the test from the year prior was used again, and that the reading test answers were available online in advance, giving some students an edge.

The SAT class action lawsuit says that the version of the test used in August 2018 was also given in Asia in summer 2017. NBC News could not identify whether or not the claims of the test being leaked were accurate.

A petition online, however, is calling for the company to invalidate all the test scores from the dates in question. The plaintiff who filed the SAT class action lawsuit says that all the students who fairly took the test were put at a disadvantage.

Although the College Board claims that they have quality control measures in place to catch cheaters, the SAT class action lawsuit says that it would be difficult for all students to know for sure whether or not their test scores were fair given the issues involved.

The SAT class action lawsuit seeks to represent Class Members nationwide who took the SAT exam on Aug. 25 and Aug. 26, 2018, and a Florida Class who took the SAT exams on the same dates.

The plaintiff in the SAT class action lawsuit is represented by Michael E. Criden and Lindsey C. Grossman of Criden & Love PA and Linda P. Nussbaum and Fred T. Isquith Jr. of Nussbaum Law Group PC.

The SAT Leaked Questions Class Action Lawsuit is John Doe, et al. v. The College Board and Educational Testing Service, Case No.8:18-cv-02172-CEH-AEP, in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida.
