Guardrail Accident Injuries Made Worse by Design Change, Victims ClaimDid you know that you or your loved one could be at risk for serious injuries due to the dangers associated with a Trinity guardrail accident? According to some consumer claims, the manufacturers of Trinity guardrails cut corners in their process, putting drivers and passengers at risk for gruesome injuries in the event of an accident.

A guardrail accident could happen when a driver has to exit the road to avoid an accident or after being struck in a serious vehicle accident. Regardless of how the incident occurs, some drivers allege that the guardrails are shoddily made and that this exposes drivers and passengers to the risks of a critical guardrail accident.

Some accident victims might not even be aware that they could have a legal claim against Trinity because they were not aware of the design flaw, or because those drivers might have been named as partly or fully at fault for the accident.

But in fact, when it comes to pursuing a claim related to a Trinity guardrail accident, the cause of the initial accident may not matter. Injuries that were directly tied to the guardrails may have been made far worse because the guardrails were not properly made.

If you were seriously injured or if you lost a loved one because of the guardrail, you might have grounds to pursue a legal claim. An investigation of the guardrail accident should be completed as soon as possible to determine whether or not the makers of those guardrails could be responsible for your injuries or the death of a loved one.

So long as you or your loved one struck a Trinity guardrail that failed, you could have grounds for a legal claim against the maker.

In 2005, Trinity Industries allegedly modified their highway guardrails without telling the Federal Highway Administration. Common industry standards require that if a vehicle strikes a guardrail end-on, the metal rail should peel off the posts attached to it and away from the vehicle.

According to some who were critically injured in a guardrail accident, the new version of this device had one inch of steel removed from the guardrail head. This led to the metal impaling cars immediately on impact rather than peeling away.

A research study carried out by Car and Driver found that this one-inch change had catastrophic impacts. Drivers were more likely to be killed or severely injured in a car accident when striking this end of the guardrail than when compared with the prior version.

Many people have come forward to report their issues with a Trinity guardrail accident. More than one dozen lawsuits have already been filed in connection with a guardrail accident, and drivers, passengers, and loved ones have reported life-changing injuries, amputations, and instances of death directly died to a guardrail accident.

The guardrail is an important safety feature that is designed to minimize injuries and death when a car strikes it as part of an accident. Those who are critically hurt following a guardrail accident may benefit from a talk with an experienced guardrail lawsuit attorney.

If you were catastrophically injured in a car accident when your vehicle hit a highway guardrail end, or if your loved one died in a guardrail crash, you may qualify to file a Trinity guardrail lawsuit, regardless of why the crash occurred.
