The Sprint settlement resolves allegations brought by the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau who said the wireless phone provider violated federal law by charging customers for unauthorized third-party services.

Sprint did not admit to any wrongdoings, but agreed to settle with the federal government agency to avoid the risk and cost of further litigation.

Class Members included all “current and former Sprint postpaid and prepaid customer account holders (Sprint customers) who paid for unauthorized third-party PSMS charges after July 1, 2010 and who did not receive a credit for those charges.”

The deadline to file a claim for the Sprint settlement passed on Dec. 31, 2015.
