A Conair class action lawsuit has been certified stemming from allegations that certain hair dryers have a design defect that poses a dangerous fire hazard.
If you purchased a 259 or 279 Infiniti Pro 1875-watt hair dryer sold by Conair since Aug. 15, 2009, you may be affected by this class action lawsuit.
The Conair class action lawsuit alleges the 259 and 279 Infiniti Pro 1875-watt hair dryers sold by Conair contain defective heating coils and electrical cords that can cause the hair dryers to fail.
The plaintiffs allege these hair dryers have the following defects: A motor that shakes excessively, causing the coils to short circuit or, in some cases, shoot coils or flames from the barrel; and an electrical cord that is too short and stiff so that, when it is bent, the cord can break wires and electrical insulation, potentially causing electrical shock and fire.
This class action lawsuit does not cover personal injury or property damage. If you suffered an injury or property damage from one of the Conair Infiniti Pro hair dryers at issue in this class action lawsuit, you may be eligible to file an individual lawsuit against Conair to seek reimbursement for your medical expenses, pain and suffering, and property damage.
Class Members of the Conair hair dryer defect lawsuit include ONLY: “California and New York residents who purchased either a model 259 or 279 Infiniti Pro 1875 watt hair dryer, between August 15, 2009 and the present, sold by Defendant Conair Corporation directly or through a retailer for primarily personal, family, or household purposes, and not for resale.”
Conair maintains that the Infiniti Pro hair dryers do not contain any design defects. The company asserts that any issues with the hair dryers occurred because users failed to follow the safety instructions.
Class Members who wish to exclude themselves from the Conair Infiniti Pro lawsuit must do so no later than Aug. 9, 2016.
A trial date has been set for Sept. 13, 2016. More information about this lawsuit can be found at www.ConairClassAction.com.
The plaintiff is represented by Odenbreit Law, APC; Cohelan Khoury & Singer; and Bisnar|Chase LLP.
