T-Mobile TCPA Class Action Settlement
Last year, T-Mobile USA Inc. agreed to settle a class action lawsuit alleging it used autodialers to make telemarketing calls to consumers in violation of the TCPA. Under the terms of the T-Mobile robocall settlement, Class Members who submitted valid claims could receive a payment of up to $90, though the distribution could be subject to a pro rata reduction.
Class Members of the T-Mobile robocall settlement included U.S. residents who were not T-Mobile customers who answered one or more collections calls placed by T-Mobile (or on T-Mobile’s behalf) using an automatic telephone dialing system or artificial/prerecorded voice between Sept. 4, 2008 and Sept. 4, 2012. To qualify as a Class Member, the recipient of the call must never have been a T-Mobile customer and did not consent to receive any calls from T-Mobile.
The deadline to file a claim for the T-Mobile class action settlement passed on Aug. 26, 2015.
The T-Mobile TCPA Class Action Lawsuit is Aboudi v. T-Mobile USA Inc., Case No. 3:12-cv-02169-BTM-NLS, in the U.S. District Court for the District of California.
American Registry TCPA Class Action Settlement
American Registry LLC agreed to settle a class action lawsuit alleging it sent faxed advertisements to individuals and businesses without their consent, in violation of the TCPA. Under the terms of the American Registry junk fax settlement, Class Members were eligible to receive a payment of $20 for each fax number that received a fax that was in violation of the TCPA.
American Registry denied any wrongdoing but agreed to settle the TCPA class action lawsuit to avoid the expense and uncertainty of trial. Class Members include any individuals or entitles who received unsolicited fax advertisements from American Registry or one of its affiliates on or before Nov. 14, 2014.
The deadline to file a claim for the American Registry class action settlement passed on June 23, 2015.
The American Registry TCPA Class Action Lawsuit is Stephan Zouras LLP v. American Registry LLC, Case No. 14-cv-943, in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, Eastern Division.
