LEO Pharma Reps File Overtime Class Action Lawsuit
By Matt O’Donnell
Pharmaceutical sales representatives for LEO Pharma have filed a class action lawsuit against the company, alleging they’re owed overtime under U.S. wage and hour laws.
The LEO Pharma reps allege in the overtime class action lawsuit that they were misclassified as exempt from overtime, even though their duties include non-exempt activities. The pharmaceutical reps also maintain they don’t qualify as outside salespeople because they don’t close sales, and because they have too little autonomy to qualify for the management exemption.
The LEO Pharma overtime class action lawsuit is brought on behalf of all current and former sales reps who work for, or used to work for, the company from February 7, 2009 to the present.
The LEO Pharma reps are represented by the same law firm that secured the $99 million overtime class action settlement for Novartis reps last month.
