Yamaha Corporation of America issued a recall for around 34,500 of its Yamaha PA-10 AC Power Adapters over concerns they could crack and expose electrical wiring, creating shock and electrocution hazards.

The recall involves Yamaha PA-10 AC Power Adapters with date codes ranging from 2126 to 2319 that were sold as a stand-alone replacement part while bundled with a Yamaha analog mixing console.

Yamaha is concerned a crack could occur between the upper and lower cases of the Yamaha power adapters that may cause them to separate and expose electrical wiring, according to the Yamaha recall.

No injuries reported in connection with Yamaha’s power adapter recall

Yamaha advises consumers to immediately stop using the recalled Yamaha power adapters and to contact the company for a free replacement.

The recalled Yamaha power adapters were sold at a number of audio stores nationwide, as well as on Yamaha’s website and Amazon.com from June 2021 through November 2023 for around $60.

No injuries have been reported in connection with the recall. Individuals with more questions about the recall can contact Yamaha directly by phone at 844-703-5446, by email or through its website.

Dynabook America issued a similar recall last month for 15.5 million of its Toshiba laptop AC adapters in the U.S and 1.3 million in Canada over concerns they could overheat and spark, leading to fire and burn hazards.
