  • Where: The recall affects consumers nationwide.

Traeger Pellet Grills initiated a recall for around 37,000 of its flat top propane grills over concerns they contain burner control knobs that could be incorrectly labeled, potentially causing the grills to accidentally be left on and creating a fire hazard.

The recall involves propane-powered Traeger Flatrock Flat Top Grills in black with a closable lid and silver handle and SKU no. 1DFL42LLA.

Traeger says it received 57 reports of incorrectly labeled flame adjustment knobs on the recalled flat top propane grills but no fires or injuries.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled Traeger flat top propane grills and contact the company for inspection instructions and to receive a free repair kit, the recall notice states.

Recalled Traeger flat top propane grills sold nationwide for around $900

Traeger sold the flat top propane grills nationwide at Ace Hardware, The Home Depot and Scheel’s retail locations, as well as online from Feb.-Oct. 2023 for about $900, according to the Traeger recall.

Individuals with more questions about the recall can contact Traeger directly at (833) 654-2407 or through the company’s website

In 2020, Traeger requested the dismissal of a class action lawsuit that accused it of misrepresenting wood pellets it sold as expensive mesquite grilling woods.

Traeger argued consumers had been unable to establish they had a right to monetary relief and that their claims were not appropriate for a nationwide class action lawsuit.
