Simmons Prepared Foods announced a recall for 26,550 pounds of its TGI Fridays Boneless Chicken Bites Honey BBQ Chicken because they potentially contain pieces of clear, hard plastic.

The company produced the boneless chicken bites on Oct. 3, the recall notice states. They feature lot code KL3K03 and a best-by date of Dec. 26, 2024, on the side of the carton. The products also bear establishment No. P-20287 inside the USDA mark of inspection.

Simmons Prepared Foods notified the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service it received consumer complaints about the chicken that led to the Fridays recall, according to the recall notice.

No reports of illness, injury from Fridays chicken recall, company says

Simmons Prepared Foods says it has not received any reports of illness or injury related to the recall. The company is not facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.
