Chrysler is recalling more than 33,000 model year 2025 Ram 1500 pickup trucks over concerns they may have been built with damaged front wheel bearing encoder rings.
The automaker said a damaged front wheel bearing encoder ring could cause a loss of wheel speed signal, potentially disabling the vehicles’ Electronic Stability Control (ESC), which could lead to an accident.
“Failure of the ESC system when intervention is expected and/or relied upon can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning,” the Ram 1500 recall says.
The recall involves certain model year 2025 Ram 1500 pickup trucks produced between Oct. 13, 2023, and Aug. 11, 2024.

Chrysler said it will have its dealers inspect and replace the front wheel bearing hub assembly on the recalled Ram 1500 pickup trucks, as necessary and free of charge.
Recall notification letters are expected to be mailed to affected vehicle owners by Dec. 19, 2024, according to the Ram 1500 recall.
Individuals who would like more information about the recall can contact Chrysler by phone at 1-800-853-1403 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
Chrysler issued a separate recall for 31,676 model year 2020-2023 Ram 1500 pickup trucks equipped with heated trailer tow rearview mirrors last month over concerns the mirror glass on the driver’s side heated trailer tow rearview mirror can detach.
