Ram 1500 recall overview:

  • Who: Chrysler is recalling 31,676 of its model year 2020-2023 Ram 1500 pickup trucks equipped with heated trailer tow rearview mirrors.
  • Why: The recall was initiated over concerns the mirror glass on the driver’s side heated trailer tow rearview mirror could detach, reducing driver visibility and increasing the risk of a crash.
  • Where: The recall affects certain Ram 1500 pickup truck owners nationwide.

Chrysler issued a recall for more than 31,000 model year 2020-2023 Ram 1500 pickup trucks equipped with heated trailer tow rearview mirrors over concerns the mirror glass could detach from the driver’s side.

The recall involves certain Ram 1500 pickup trucks produced between Sept. 24, 2020, and April 11, 2023.

Chrysler said mirror glass can detach from the driver’s side heated trailer tow rearview mirror, which could reduce driver visibility and increase the risk of a crash.

“Detached driver side mirror glass reduces visibility and could result in a vehicle crash without prior warning,” the Ram 1500 recall says.

Chrysler to replace mirror glass on recalled Ram 1500 pickup trucks

Chrysler dealers will replace the mirror glass on the recalled Ram 1500 pickup trucks, free of charge, in order to remedy the issue, according to the Ram 1500 recall.

Recall notification letters are expected to be mailed to affected vehicle owners Dec. 5, 2024.

Drivers with more questions about the recall may contact Chrysler by phone at 1-800-853-1403 or National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.

Stellantis issued a separate recall for nearly 130,000 Ram 1500 pickup trucks earlier this month over concerns the vehicles’ turn signal self-canceling feature could malfunction, increasing the risk of a crash

We have had to replace both side mirrors on our truck because they quit working and start falling off. It cost us $2000 to have both done.
    It’s a 2019 Ral Laramie.
We also had to replace back window because it was majorly leaking. That was $1000
