Aldi Pet Advent Calendars Recall Overview:

  • Who: Aldi voluntary recalled its Pure Being Cat Advent Calendars and Pure Being Dog Advent Calendars.
  • Why: The recall was initiated due to a potential choking hazard.
  • Where: The recall is nationwide.

Aldi has issued a voluntary recall for its Pure Being Cat Advent Calendars and Pure Being Dog Advent Calendars due to a potential choking hazard.

The recall, which was announced by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, is being done “out of an abundance of caution” and as a “precautionary measure,” according to the recall notice.

Aldi initiated the recall, which is being done in cooperation with Pet Brands Products, LLC, after the company received a “small number” of customer complaints.

The products both came packaged in 5.15 oz. boxes with best-if used by dates of “All.”

Aldi assured consumers that none of its other products are involved in the recall and that the company “takes the safety and integrity of the products it sells seriously.”

Customers Should Discard Calendars Or Return To Place Of Purchase For Refund

The company has told customers who own the affected advent calendars to discard them or return them to their place of purchase to receive a full refund.

Customers can also contact Pet Brands Products’ customer service line directly by phone at (866) 396-3647.

“Aldi sincerely regrets any inconvenience and concern this voluntary recall may cause,” the company said.

A separate recall in January of last year for Sportmix brand pet food products was expanded following the deaths of more than 70 dogs

And a class action lawsuit was filed against Diamond Pet Foods back in 2012 by a consumer claiming her dog died after eating salmonella-tainted dog food manufactured by the company
