  • Where: The Power Life Nutrition recall is active in the United States.

Power Life Nutrition has recalled a limited amount of its High Impact Plant Protein as the product has been labeled incorrectly and contains a milk allergen.

The recall was published Dec. 15 to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration website. It applies to 50 ounce jars of Power Life Nutrition High Impact Plant Protein marked with lot #0914922 on the bottom.

The recall was initiated after it was discovered that a limited quantity of units of High Impact Whey Protein incorrectly contained the label for High Impact Plant Protein, the company said.

“For a brief period during the manufacturing process, jars containing High Impact Whey Protein were mislabeled as High Impact Plant Protein,” the recall states.

“Subsequent investigation indicates the problem was caused by an error in the manufacturer’s packaging process manufacturer.”

Recalled Power Life Nutrition product could be unsafe for those with milk allergies

People who have allergies to milk run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume the products, the company said.

“The mislabeled product is safe to consume for consumers who ordered High Impact Whey Protein, but it does not contain an allergen declaration for the milk allergen in the product.”

No serious adverse reactions have been reported to date in connection with this problem, the recall states.

The company is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes end in class action lawsuits.

The recalled units of High Impact Plant Protein were shipped to customers who purchased High Impact Whey Protein from Power Life Nutrition’s website between Oct. 18, 2022 through Nov. 30, 2022.

Consumers who bought the recalled product can contact Power Life Nutrition to receive a prepaid return shipping label and free replacement product, the company said.

Last month, Weis Markets issued a recall for 108 containers of Weis Quality Sea Salt Caramel Ripple Ice Cream as the product may contain undeclared soy and coconut allergens, which can cause life-threatening allergic reactions for some people.
