Rich Products recalled 15 cases of Member’s Mark breaded mozzarella sticks as they may contain undeclared egg and soy.
The U.S. Food & Drug Administration website published the recall July 25. It applies to Member’s Mark Breaded Mozzarella Sticks sold in a cardboard box package with a net weight of 5 pounds, best-by date of Dec. 28, 2024, stamped on the side panel and UPC No. 078742226880 on the back of the package.
According to the recall, these products may contain egg and soy ingredients that are not declared on the product packaging.
“People with an allergy or severe sensitivity to egg or soy risk serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume these products,” the recall states.
No illnesses have been reported to date, the company says. It is not facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes end in class action lawsuits.
Return mozzarella sticks for a full refund, Member’s Mark recall notice states
Rich Products distributed the Member’s Mark breaded mozzarella sticks to Sam’s Club retail stores in Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and West Virginia.
Rich initiated the recall after it discovered an incorrect raw material used during the manufacturing process that introduced egg and soy to the product, the company says.
“Egg and soy do not appear in the ingredient listing on the package,” the recall states.
Consumers who purchased the recalled Member’s Mark Breaded Mozzarella Sticks should return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
In other Member’s Mark news, in April, a Tennessee man sued the maker of Member’s Mark supplements, Sam’s West, alleging the company falsely advertises one of its turmeric curcumin complex joint health supplements.
According to the lawsuit, the product’s front label representations say it contains 500 mg of standardized extract of turmeric curcumin complex with 95% of the extract used. However, lab testing allegedly revealed that instead of the expected 475 mg, the product contains only 9.7 mg of curcuminoids per serving.
