Inventure Foods has agreed to a $900,000 settlement to resolve a class action lawsuit claiming it falsely advertised its TGI Friday’s brand Mozzarella Sticks Snacks as containing real mozzarella cheese.
The settlement benefits anyone in the United States who purchased TGI Friday’s Mozzarella Sticks Snacks, including TGI Friday’s Mozzarella Sticks Snacks Original, Mozzarella Sticks Snacks Original Flavor and Mozzarella Sticks Snacks Original Flavor Baked shelf-stable bagged snack-food products from Jan. 1, 2017, to July 31, 2022.Â
The lawsuit alleged Inventure manufactured and sold TGI Friday’s Mozzarella Sticks Corn Snacks while falsely representing that the products contained actual mozzarella cheese, in violation of the Illinois Consumer Fraud Act and other state consumer protection laws.
