RH Illuminated Mirrors Recall Overview:

  • Who: More than 3,000 RH leaner, round, rectangle and dresser mirrors that have lightbulbs inserted in the frames are being recalled.
  • Why: The mirrors contain loose components in the bulb sockets, which can lead to overcurrent and overheating, posing fire and shock hazards.
  • Where: The recall is effective nationwide in the United States.

More than 3,000 RH leaner, round, rectangle and dresser mirrors that have lightbulbs inserted in the frames are being recalled after consumers reported numerous issues with the mirrors, including melting, smoking, sparking and fires.

In a recall notice posted by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, RH says it is recalling 3,300 of its illuminated mirrors that come in various sizes and shapes due to loose components in the mirror’s bulb sockets, which can lead to overcurrent and overheating, posing fire and shock hazards.

RH says it has received three reports of the mirror’s electrical switch or wiring catching fire and 60 reports of electrical issues including melting, smoking, sparking, shorting and bulbs bursting or breaking. Luckily, no injuries or property damage have been reported.

All of the recalled mirrors have either an aged brass, antique pewter or dark steel finish, the recall notice says. The recall involves all mirrors with a manufacturing date code before February 2021. The mirrors have a range of SKU codes that can be found here.

Illuminated Mirror Consumers Should Stop Using Product, Contact Company For Refund

RH is asking consumers to immediately stop using the recalled mirrors, unplug them and contact the company for their choice of full refund of the purchase price or a free replacement mirror.

RH says it will schedule free pickups of the recalled mirrors, which were sold at RH Galleries nationwide and online from September 2015 through February 2022 for between $47 and $1,313.

Last year, RH had to recall three styles of hooded children’s bath wraps — Animal, Heathered Plush and Luxe Sherpa — because they posed a risk of burn injuries to youngsters. A total of 55,700 wraps did not meet government standards for flammability in children’s sleepwear, according to the recall alert.
