Frito-Lay veggie crisps recall overview: 

  • Who: Frito-Lay voluntarily recalled 16,000 bags of its Off The Eaten Path Chickpea Veggie Crisps. 
  • Why: The recall was initiated over concerns the product contains undeclared milk ingredients in the form of unintended caramel seasoned chips. 
  • Where: The recalled Frito-Lay crisps were distributed to retail stores in 26 states and e-commerce customers. 

Frito-Lay has announced a voluntary recall for 16,100 bags of its Off The Eaten Path Chickpea Veggie Crisps over concerns the product contains undeclared milk ingredients due to an unintended presence of caramel seasoned crisps. 

The recall involves Off The Eaten Path Chickpea Veggie Crisps sold in 6.25-ounce bags with a use-by date of March 12, 2024, distributed to e-commerce customers and retail stores in 26 states and sold as early as Sept. 13, 2023. 

Those with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume product contained inside the recalled bags,” the Frito-Lay recall states. 

Frito Lay advises consumers with milk allergy not to eat recalled veggie crisps

Frito-Lay said no allergic reactions have been reported in connection with the recall and that no other Off The Eaten Path products, flavors, sizes or variety packs are affected. 

Consumers with an allergy to milk are advised not to consume the recalled Off The Eaten Path Chickpea Veggie Crisps and to discard the product immediately.

In August, Frito-Lay recalled as many as 7,000 bags of its Doritos Nacho Cheese Flavored Tortilla Chips that were distributed to Pennsylvania retail stores over concerns they may have contained undeclared soy and wheat ingredients. 

Frito-Lay was worried the recalled Doritos chips may have contained undeclared soy stemming from wheat ingredients found in spicy sweet chili tortilla chips.
