Family Dollar announced a recall for a large group of over-the-counter drugs and medical devices shipped outside of labeled temperatures from June 1 to  Sept. 21.

The retailer sold the products in stores in 23 states from June 1 to Oct. 4, according to the recall notice.

The recalled product list includes ointments, mouthwash, toothpaste, pain relievers, powders, saline solution, cough and cold medicines, antacids, creams and more.

Family Dollar asked individual stores to check the recall notice for impacted products and to discontinue selling products on the list.

Products can be returned for full refund without receipt, Family Dollar recall says

Family Dollar says it has not received reports of illness related to the recall. The company is not facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.

The impacted products can be returned to the Family Dollar store where they were purchased for a full refund without a receipt, according to the recall notice.

The states that received the recalled items include Alabama, Arkansas, Alaska, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.

Consumers can reach Family Dollar customer service at (844) 636-7687 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET.

This isn’t the first time Family Dollar needed to recall these products for a similar reason. In September 2022, it voluntarily recalled OTC products and medical devices that were stored outside of labeled temperature requirements.
