COVID-19 tests recall overview:

  • Who: Detect Inc. has voluntarily recalled more than 11,000 of its COVID-19 test kits.
  • Why: The voluntary recall was initiated over concerns certain COVID-19 test kids could produce false negative results.
  • Where: Nationwide.

Detect Inc. has voluntarily recalled more than 11,000 of its COVID-19 test kits over concerns that certain lots may produce false negative results.

The recall was initiated after Detect determined certain over-the-counter COVID-19 test kits had an “increased chance” of presenting “false negative results,” according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

“Detect has conducted a thorough investigation to identify this issue and has made the decision to conduct a voluntary recall for these lots,” the Detect recall recall.

Detect said the recalled test kits were shipped to consumers from between July 26 and Aug. 26 of this year.

FDA granted Detect brand COVID-19 test kits emergency use last October

The FDA had previously granted an emergency use authorization to the test kits Oct. 28, 2021, according to the Detect recall.

Detect said it has not received any reports of a false negative result occurring in the recalled test kit lots but that it is conducting the recall out of “an abundance of caution.”

Last November, the FDA recalled more than 2.2 million Ellume-brand COVID-19 test kits over concerns they could produce false positive results

As a healthcare worker and mandatory weekly testing I had 4 false positive tests that caused me to quarantine and lose a total of 24 days of pay that forced me to use all of my vacation time. I was a director of a social services and only allowed to work from home 4 hours a day even though I was working 8 plus. One false positive took 12 days to receive my lab PCR test back and was negative. I was forced to vaccinate and only did so at the last minute to save my job. I watched the executive director bring in a doctor to go on the floor while young CNA’s were providing care and bully them into accepting the vaccine because the nursing home got kickbacks. Yet, no one helped to cover our loss of wages and forced to use our vacation time.

Would this happen to be the ones that were mailed out for free through post office cause I really felt like I had it all over again and trusted the negative results then my parents came up positive after the family Thanksgiving dinner also when I got released from the hospital after 3 week stay my housing complex required me to test before returning and it came up positive why would hospital release me after 3 weeks if positive and not let me check myself out until I had oxygen tanks delivered to my place it made no sense and the test results leaked making people treat me like crap

No, these aren’t the ones sent by the USPS. I got two versions from USPS. One batch from iHealth and one from FlowFlex. I haven’t used the FlowFlex brand yet but the iHealth ones are good. Several friends have used them for positive tests. I haven’t had covid yet so I haven’t used many of my tests.

HIPAA Violation on leaked record. I’d sue.
