Reckitt Airborne Gummies Recall Overview:

  • Who: Reckitt issued a recall for more than 3 million bottles of its Airborne Gummies.
  • Why: The recall was initiated over concerns the bottle’s cap and underlying seal could “pop off with force” upon being opened for the first time, presenting an injury risk.
  • Where: The recall is nationwide.

Reckitt has issued a recall for more than 3 million bottles of its Airborne Gummies over concerns the bottle’s cap and underlying seal can “pop off with force” upon first being opened.

The affected products are blueberry pomegranate, orange and assorted fruit flavors of Airborne Gummies sold in 63- and 75-count bottles, according to a recall notice published by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on Mar. 16.

Reckitt, which says the issue is caused by pressure being built up in the bottles, is advising consumers not to open the product and to contact the company for a full refund.

Consumers who contact Reckitt will receive a postage-paid label that they can use to ship any unopened bottles back to the company.

Airborne Gummies That Have Been Opened Not Subject To The Recall

Bottles which have already been opened are not part of the recall since the pressure would have already been released and would no longer pose a risk of injury, according to the recall.

Reckitt says it has received 70 reports of either the cap or bottle seal popping off, 18 reports of minor injuries and one report of an eye injury that needed medical attention.

The affected Airborne Gummies were sold online at Amazon.com and www.schiffvitamins.com and at stores nationwide, including Walgreens, Target, CVS, Kroger, BJ’s, Sam’s Club, Walmart and Costco, from May 2020 through February 2022, according to the recall.

The products were manufactured by Reckitt in the United States and sold for between $18 and $33, according to the recall.

Consumers who want more information can contact Reckitt directly by phone at 888-266-8003 or online.
