We’re not quite to the dog days of summer yet, but it’s a perfect time to celebrate the furry canine companions in our lives: Saturday, May 20, is National Rescue Dog Day!
Lisa Wiehebrink, children’s book author and executive director of Tails That Teach, founded the day in 2018 to bring awareness to the shelter dogs around the country who are looking for a forever home, according to the National Rescue Dog Day website. Wiehebrink adopted her dog, Cooper, in 2009 in Los Angeles.

Thanks so much for sharing! I loved seeing TCAs dog family. They are all so cute.
I had two rescues myself, Hope and Grace. Unfortunately Hope went to Heaven due to a two year fight with Cancer. Now it’s just Grace and I. We miss her every day!
