Molekule Air Purifier Class Action Settlement Overview:

- Why: In court documents, the plaintiffs say that Class Members who purchased Molekule air purifiers will receive a substantial class action rebate amounting to at least $70 each. .
- Where: The proposed settlement will be reviewed by a Delaware federal court.
Molekule Inc. has reached a class action settlement worth up to $2.7 million with consumers who alleged the company falsely advertised the nature and efficacy of its air purifiers.
The settlement agreement includes a cash fund worth $1.3 million and a transferable coupon fund worth up to $1.4 million which can be used towards the purchase of an air purifier filter or filter subscription, according to a declaration filed Friday.
Plaintiffs Friday Apaliski, Angelique Fish, Jamie Waterman, and John Joyal alleged in their class action lawsuit that Molekule falsely advertised the effectiveness of its air purifiers, including that they could outperform HEPA filters, get rid of all indoor pollutants, provide asthma and allergy relief, and destroy airborne pollutants.
Molekule argued that its advertising was accurate and supported by independent lab testing and that its air purifiers could in-fact destroy airborne pollutants.
Molekule Air Purifier Class Action Settlement
Plaintiffs say they came to the agreement with Molekule on Sept. 30 after several months of tinkering following an all-day virtual mediation session.
“While I firmly believe in the merits of this litigation and that Plaintiffs would ultimately win at trial, I also believe that recovery is far from guaranteed and that the benefits of settlement in this case outweigh the risks and uncertainties of continued litigation,” stated plaintiffs attorney Jason S. Rathod.
Each Class Member will receive around $70, while Apaliski, Fish, Waterman, and Joyal will be given a $5,000 award for representing the Class.
Molekule initially argued that most consumers who bought its air purifiers were subject to a class action waiver and binding arbitration agreement. Plaintiffs countered that consumers who purchased Molekule air purifiers from third-party retailers could not be held to the arbitration agreement.

there’s a $700 air filter sitting in my studio apartment. unplugged. I didn’t get this thing to be more sick and been dealing with this crap. I want money back so I can get a proper filter.
I bought a mini molecule and it was a joke. I also paid 100 dollars for a new filter and never used it. My molecule is now sitting in the garage along with the brand new filter.
same … How do we get part of the settlement?
