Intertex Blower Fans Recall Overview:

  • Who: Intertex has recalled thousands of its blower fans.
  • Why: The B-Air® VP-33 Blower Fans are at risk of catching fire.
  • Where: Intertex is based in West Chester, Penn., and the recall extends nationwide and in Canada.

Intertex has recalled about 35,000 B-Air® VP-33 Blower Fans in the United States and Canada, due to the possibility of the capacitor overheating and catching fire.

The recall stems from five reports of the capacitor overheating and causing fire-related property damage totaling about $75,000, although no injuries have been reported.

The recall affects B-Air® VP-33 Blower Fans manufactured before Jan. 1, 2018.

What to Do With Your Recalled Intertex Blower Fan

The recalled fans were sold at Home Depot and Menard’s, as well as online at Amazon.com and Home Depot.com between February 2013 and December 2017. The 1/3 horsepower fans were sold in blue, green, or red in a neon yellow-colored box. The B-Air logo can be found on the vent and on the product label.

If you own one of these fans, stop use immediately and contact Intertex for a free repair kit, which includes an S-3 capacitor and installation instructions.

Consumers can also contact the company by phone or email. Additional information is available on the Intertex website.

I own a 2015 Lincoln Navigator. I received a recall notice for the blower in September of 2022 said it could catch fire but it’s ok to drive it no replacement part yet. I received a second recall notice the 18 of august 2023 saying they have the part. I had an apt to get replaced in a week. 2 days later going to church It started to smoke so parked in back parking lot and started fire burning my whole car up it’s totally gone. I need to know if I have a claim or do I accept the insurance offer which is low. Please someone contact me about this. Thank you Korin
