Amazon Rug Recall Overview
- Who: Retailers have recalled two rugs sold exclusively on Amazon.
- Why: The Amazon rugs do not meet federal flammability standards, posing a fire risk to consumers.

A pair of Amazon rugs, the Pacapet fluffy pink and Suellen Roosevein fluffy purple, have been recalled for posing a fire hazard.
About 700 of the Pacapet Fluffy Pink Area Rugs and 100 of the YOH Super Soft Purple Rugs are subject to the recall for failing to meet the federal flammability standard for carpets and rugs, the US. Consumer Protection Safety Commission said in two recall notices.
There have been no injuries reported in connection to the rugs.
Amazon Rugs Recalled
The Pacapet Fluffy Pink Area Rugs are light pink rectangular rugs that measure about 5 feet by 8 feet. “Pacapet”, “100% Polyester” and “Made in China” are printed on a label on the underside of the product.
Suellen Roosevein’s YOH Super Soft Purple Rugs measure approximately 5 feet by 8 feet. “100% Polyester” and “Made in China” are printed on a label on the underside of the product.
Both of the rugs were sold exclusively on Amazon for about $50.
The notices say that consumers should immediately stop using the recalled Amazon rugs and contact the companies for instructions on how to receive a full refund, including shipping.
Amazon, which has recently updated its injury policy, allowing consumers to claim up to $1,000 for defective products sold on the site, is contacting all known purchasers directly on behalf of the companies.
