T-Mobile prices class action lawsuit overview:ย

  • Who: A group of consumers filed a class action lawsuit against T-Mobile USA Inc.ย
  • Why: Consumers claim that T-Mobile violated its guarantee that certain wireless cell phone service plans had rates that were guaranteed to last for life.ย
  • Where: The T-Mobile class action lawsuit was filed in New Jersey federal court.ย

T-Mobile violated its guarantee that the terms of certain wireless cell phone service plans would last for life, a new class action lawsuit alleges.ย

A group of consumers claim T-Mobile switched their cell phone plans earlier this year to a more expensive plan without their consent, despite guaranteeing the plans would either last for life or as long as a customer wanted to remain with it.ย

โ€œT-Mobile has reneged on its promises to its customers and raised rates for all the plans with rates that were promised to be guaranteed for life,โ€ the T-Mobile class action says.ย

The group of consumers want to represent a nationwide class and subclasses of consumers in Georgia, Nevada, Pennsylvania and New Jersey who entered into a T-Mobile ONE Plan, Simple-Choice plan, Magenta, Magenta Max, Magenta 55 +, Magenta Amplified or Magenta Military Plan with T-Mobile that included a promise of a lifetime price guarantee and who had their price increased without their consent.ย

T-Mobile promised rates for T-Mobile ONE plans to never change, class action claims

The consumers argue T-Mobile introduced the T-Mobile ONE wireless cell phone service plans โ€” which the company referred to as an โ€œun-contractโ€ โ€” in 2017, at which time the carrier allegedly promised the plansโ€™ rates would never be changed.ย

In 2020, however, T-Mobile completed a merger with Sprint, at which time the former pledged not to raise rates on its phone plans for three years, according to the T-Mobile class action.ย

โ€œNow that the three years have elapsed and the wireless network landscape has continued to contract leaving consumers with less choices,โ€ the T-Mobile class action says.ย

Consumers argue T-Mobile is guilty of common law fraud and common law false advertising and negligent misrepresentation, and of violating New Jerseyโ€™s Consumer Fraud Act, the Georgia Uniform Deceptive Trade Practices Act, the Nevada Deceptive Trade Practices Act and the Pennsylvania Unfair Trade PRactices and Consumer Protection Law.

The plaintiffs demand a jury trial and request injunctive relief and an award of actual damages for themselves and all class members.ย

Mediation for a class action lawsuit revolving T-Mobileโ€™s merger with Sprint failed earlier this year. The complaint argues T-Mobile forced mostly minority-owned stores to close in the wake of the merger, despite telling Congress and the public it would be opening hundreds of stores.ย

The plaintiffs are represented by Bruce H. Nagel and Randee M. Matloff of Nagel Rice, LLP.ย

The T-Mobile prices class action lawsuit is Oddo, et al. v. T-Mobile USA Inc., Case No. 2:24-cv-07719, in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.

I opened business account under my military discount, verified ID sent over, 4 months after opening I ended paying double but didnโ€™t realize it until months later when line was suspended. Reach out they informed that I never turned military proof. After escalating for a manager, they verify that I did turn it in upon opening accounts. Then they tried to give only a portion back after having to pay past due to get lines turned back on. When looking at statements, in which I had to go to the store to request because for some ungodly reason, I canโ€™t login my account and โ€œthey donโ€™t know how to fix itโ€, I ended up paying for 6 months in double plus reconnect fees. It is now almost 8 months and still going back and forth with them to fix account and get access to account back on line, with no call back and being told the same over and over again

The only possible way you can hope to ever get help for something like that would be if you remember what store it was you signed up and go back there and speak to a manager. If your lucky theyโ€™ll possibly have the same manager that was there when you cut the service. If they are and you disk to them, they can help you. Otherwise calling or chatting can be an extremely fruitless effort. They will make you start from the beginning every time. Thereโ€™s us no communication horizontally at T-Mobile Care. And the vertical communication can only go up 1 level, to a supervisor. The sup. MAY in the rarest of cases that they are the nicest, AND (not only nicest) but MOST HONEST supervisor to ever exist in the history of corporate America, escalate the issue to a manager. But many of them will tell you they will call you back or escalate you higher, and then just ghost you. And everytime you call back you get a different rep and supervisor and probably manager. They tried to fix it with having a โ€œlocalโ€ team of experts, where you get the same call better everytime you call, but if doesnโ€™t work that way in realityโ€ฆ Just print your bill every month and try to get back to the store and manager where you signed up and donโ€™t lose it completely on them , bc I know you want to, and that is the only realistically possible way you may ever get it fixed. Otherwise, just resubmit the military paperwork online and get the discount going forward or find a better deal elsewhereโ€ฆ Good Luck?

My Bill went up since I had it. I have been with tmobile over 14 years. The first plan was awesome till they trick you. I lost all my free lines. I went from paying $10 a line to $35โ€ฆthats crazy ๐Ÿคช
I had 4 lines for $100 any extra would cost me $10. Thatโ€™s when I had the original plan when I started with them. I also had a text free line for my husband lifelongโ€ฆlolโ€ฆ free line for my tablet lifelong. LOL ๐Ÿ˜‚ They took everything away just putting my plan on a new one. They always tell you: The new one you will safe money bla bla and you will still have your free lines. A Big No lying about it.

    Add mee

  7. Crystal D Boyd says:

They went up on our phone bill also. We have a Tmobile One for Business plan. They went up from $180 a month to $190 a month. Someone from customer care told me that they wouldnโ€™t. They did anyway. Weโ€™re on a limited income and canโ€™t afford to pay that.

  8. David says:

    How do I join

  9. Jason says:

They did try to. We are on mobile one, two lines for $100 taxes included. I complained, spoke with numerous managers, and they stated they would add a forever $10 credit to my account to offset it.

  10. Phillip Julias says:

12 lines One Military plan went up $5 per line. Add me please
