TULA Life Skincare Products $5M Class Action Settlement

TULA LIFE SETTLEMENT UPDATE:

Consumers who bought TULA Life Inc. products may be eligible to make a claim without proof of purchase as part of a $5 million class action lawsuit settlement agreement.

The Class includes anyone in the United States, its territories, and districts who purchased TULA Life skincare products between Jan. 1, 2013, and Aug. 30, 2021.

Plaintiffs in a class action lawsuit alleged they were misled to believe certain TULA products advertised as containing probiotics contain live cultures.

TULA Life denies all allegations of wrongdoing but has agreed to the settlement. The Court has not ruled in favor of either party in this case.

TULA makes a variety of skincare products, including cleansers, serums, creams, and scrubs. TULA is sold online and at retailers such as Ulta, Target, and Nordstrom. 

TULA Lawsuit Settlement Benefits

Class Members who file a valid claim will receive a portion of the $5 million settlement fund after attorneys’ fees, administration costs, and other expenses are deducted.

Those who submit proof of purchase along with their claim form will be eligible to receive a refund of 10 percent of the amounts they paid for the covered TULA products, or $4, whichever is greater, up to a maximum of $25 per household.

Class Members who do not include proof of purchase with their claim will be eligible for a cash payment of $4.

These awards may be adjusted up or down depending on the number of claims filed.

In addition to the monetary relief, the company also has agreed to make certain labeling or packaging changes to its products to indicate the products do not contain live cultures.

A final approval hearing in the TULA Life class action lawsuit settlement is scheduled for Oct. 26, 2021.

Anyone wishing to exclude themselves from or object to the settlement must do so by Sept. 30, 2021.

The deadline to submit a claim is Dec. 10, 2021.
