Tractor transmission fluid can allegedly harm engines.

Individuals who purchased Martin or Orscheln tractor transmission fluid may be eligible to benefit from a $450,000 settlement.

The settlement benefits consumers who purchased Martin 303 Tractor Hydraulic & Transmission Fluid in Missouri since April 5, 2014 and/or Orscheln Premium 303 Tractor Hydraulic & Transmission Fluid in Missouri from Orscheln Farm and Home LLC retail locations between May 25, 2013 and Sept. 2, 2014.

Plaintiffs in the tractor transmission fluid class action lawsuit claimed that Martin and Orscheln tractor fluid could cause damage to engines and equipment. Despite this, Martin Lubricants allegedly failed to warn consumers of the risks for damage to drive spiral gears, excess wear, seal leakage, high pump leakage, and damage from deposits, sludging, and thickening.

Martin Lubricants has denied any wrongdoing alleged by the plaintiffs but has agreed to resolve the claims against them in a $450,000 class action settlement. According to the settlement agreement, this deal will allow all parties to resolve the claims and secure benefits without the risks and costs of continuing to litigate the issue.

The tractor transmission fluid class action settlement provides refunds and reimbursements to affected consumers. Class Members can collect refunds worth an estimated 25% of their purchase price of 303 tractor transmission fluid. Class Members whose equipment suffered from damage due to the 303 tractor transmission fluid can also make claims for reimbursements of any repairs, parts, or other costs.

In order to benefit from the settlement, Class Members must file a valid claim form by Feb. 8, 2021. Claim forms must include proof of purchase (receipts, etc.) and documentation of repairs, parts purchases, or other damage-related costs.

The deadline for exclusion and objection is also Feb. 8, 2021. The court will hold a final approval hearing for the tractor transmission fluid class action settlement on March 23, 2021.
