2021 Subaru Impreza Recall Overview:

  • Who: Subaru has recalled hundreds of 2021 Imprezas.
  • Why: A welding error may increase the risk of a crash.
  • Where: The recall affects 2021 Impresa owners nationwide.

Subaru has recalled a small number of 2021 Imprezas due to a potentially defective control arm, which may cause drivers to lose control of the vehicle and increase the risk of a crash. No accidents have been reported in relation to this issue.

The recall affects 802 vehicles 2021 Imprezas. Subaru will email 2021 Impreza owners about the recall, but you can check your vehicle’s status on Subaru’s Recall page or by calling Subaru’s Vehicle Safety Hotline at (888) 327-4236.

Subaru retailers will conduct an inspection of the left front lower control arm of all potentially affected vehicles. If that control arm has a specific lot number, which Subaru did not specify in its statement, Subaru will replace the part free of charge.

Until your vehicle has been inspected, Subaru has instructed customers to not drive the vehicle.

2021 Impreza Recall After ‘Improper Weld’ Discovered in Some Vehicles

The recall stems from the potential of an “improper weld” between the Impreza’s left front lower control arm and its crossmember.

The faulty weld could lead to a partial separation of the two parts, according to Subaru’s recall statement. In that instance, the tire could contact the wheel well, resulting in a loss of control of the vehicle and increasing the risk of a crash.
