Drinkworks Reimbursement Program Overview:

  • Who: Drinkworks has announced a reimbursement program for consumers who own its home bar system machines.
  • Why: The reimbursement program comes following Drinkworks’ announcement that it is ceasing its business operations and thus will no longer be able to service or replace the machines.
  • Where: Consumers nationwide can participate in the reimbursement program.

Consumers with Drinkworks machines may be eligible for reimbursement following the company’s December announcement that it is ceasing its operations.

“Thank you for being part of our passionate Drinkworks community,” the company said in its announcement. “On Dec. 15, 2021, we made the difficult decision to close Drinkworks with sales of Drinkmaker machines ceasing immediately.”

Drinkworks, which sold cocktail pods, C02 and accessories, along with home bar system machines, said the reimbursements are being offered since it will no longer be able to replace or service the machines.

Consumers will have until Feb. 28 to file a claim for reimbursement, which can be done online. Reimbursement can not be achieved by bringing the machine back to a retail location, Drinkworks warned.

The only individuals who are automatically excluded from being able to receive reimbursement are those who were gifted the machines through their employment with Drinkworks or through marketing or public relations campaigns, according to the company.

Cocktail Pods Will Remain On Sale Through March 31

Consumers will only be eligible to receive reimbursements on the machines, according to the company, which says sales of its cocktail pods will remain available through March 31 or while supplies last.

Drinkworks says it has voided the warranty on the machines because it is offering reimbursement and will no longer be able to service them. Consumers who were previously given a second machine thanks to a warranty will only be eligible for reimbursement on one machine, the company said.

Consumers will be able to keep their machines if they choose, or they can recycle for free through a prepaid mail back program being conducted by Drinkworks.

Individuals with questions or concerns about the reimbursement program are encouraged to contact Drinkworks directly by email at [email protected] or phone at 1-855-374-6596.

Keurig, another company that incorporates drink pods into its product, was the target of a class action lawsuit in 2018 that argued it falsely advertised some of its K-Cup single-serving coffee pods as being recyclable

The plaintiff in the case, a California woman named Kathleen Smith, argued that Keurig Green Mountain K-Cup pods were too small to be recycled despite labeling stating they could be.

  1. Sherri Cole says:

I bought this machine in good faith that the company (with a credible brand name that suggests a reputable sales transaction) would honor its sale, warranty, and definitely notify consumers about any positive OR negative upcoming events (such as discontinuing its products!). I had no idea the machine was discontinued. I did not receive any notification about this although I did receive many emails and texts concerning updates on pod sales, etc. This is reprehensible and needs to be addressed. As many people on this thread has already stated, this notice should have been sent to ALL purchasers of the drink-works machine in a timely fashion, with a receipt of notification received or of exhausted attempts clarified and reached, and a more reasonable time-frame for reimbursement filing needed – with a website to include phone contact numbers (real people answering questions) contact hours, FAQs, email options, forms to download, and other standard resources. This is a class action law suit waiting to happen, and I do not believe that it is is not in the works already.

I also was not notified and am also a registered user! Now, they bounce you around between Keurig and Keurig/Dr. Pepper. I only found out bc I asked about them at the liquor store. Mine was purchased directly through Drinkworks as well. What a sham! If I can’t get a refund on this overpriced product, my other Keurig items will be tossed. I can’t work with such a dishonest company. I would definitely be interested if a class action suit it filed!

  3. KFL says:

I agree with all of the comments below. No notification and only a two month window is ridiculous.

  4. Brittany Gardner says:

I was Never notified of this, I was looking for Pod recently and that is how i ended up on line. I registered my product and should have been updated. Now its just landfill- what a joke.

  5. Betty Campbell says:

Due to lack of notification and illness due to covid I have just found out that my home bar that is still in a box never opened is discontinued. Is there anything I can do about a refund of some sort?

  6. Angry customer says:

This is so ridiculous. As previously stated I was not notified and was unaware they were closing this department. I’m having an issue as my drinkworks is not chilling, so I called and was told there is nothing they could do. I have 500+ in pods, cleaning tablets, co2 tanks, pod holder, riser stand, etc. I got ALL the accessories and now I’m supposed to just throw everything out. HOW RIDICULOUS!!!

    1. Helen Brewer says:

I just seen this none was notified or received. No where to even write to to claim my money. Didn’t give people enough time to find out about it. Maybe we can figure out how to make it a pretty flower pot, just kidding, mean no harm.

    2. Brittany Gardner says:

Same!! i have EVERY accessory and i bough direct form the company not a 3rd party vendor, so they had records and should have notified.

  7. TeShandell Truehill says:

Wow, I had no idea the machine was discontinued. I did not receive any notification about this! This is frustrating! I want a refund!!! Anyone know any additional actions that can be taken to get reimbursed?

  8. Joe D. says:

I agree with the others on not getting a notification of discontinuing the Drinkworks products. I too do not use twitter or other social media, They could have sent it through the app. When COVID came out I got real sick and stopped using the machine. I back and used the last tablets and could not find any, I can tel you one thing, I am not going to buy a Keurig product any more

  9. Millie carter says:

So upset with how this played out.. bad business on keurig/drinkworks part. They claimed to have notified everyone but even registered owners didn’t get anything. Got this as a splurge bday gift from my husband he saved up for it and was so disappointed to hear it’s trash now and we can’t get our money back because claim was late and denied since I put replacement machine number

  10. Monica Jennings says:

I am disgusted with Drinkworks! My husband purchased this machine in December 2021 for me for Christmas. Not knowing this item was discontinued! Just found out that it was discontinued in April and still have received no resolution.
