Drinkworks Reimbursement Program Overview:
- Who: Drinkworks has announced a reimbursement program for consumers who own its home bar system machines.
- Why: The reimbursement program comes following Drinkworks’ announcement that it is ceasing its business operations and thus will no longer be able to service or replace the machines.
- Where: Consumers nationwide can participate in the reimbursement program.
Consumers with Drinkworks machines may be eligible for reimbursement following the company’s December announcement that it is ceasing its operations.
“Thank you for being part of our passionate Drinkworks community,” the company said in its announcement. “On Dec. 15, 2021, we made the difficult decision to close Drinkworks with sales of Drinkmaker machines ceasing immediately.”
Drinkworks, which sold cocktail pods, C02 and accessories, along with home bar system machines, said the reimbursements are being offered since it will no longer be able to replace or service the machines.
Consumers will have until Feb. 28 to file a claim for reimbursement, which can be done online. Reimbursement can not be achieved by bringing the machine back to a retail location, Drinkworks warned.
The only individuals who are automatically excluded from being able to receive reimbursement are those who were gifted the machines through their employment with Drinkworks or through marketing or public relations campaigns, according to the company.
Cocktail Pods Will Remain On Sale Through March 31
Consumers will only be eligible to receive reimbursements on the machines, according to the company, which says sales of its cocktail pods will remain available through March 31 or while supplies last.
Drinkworks says it has voided the warranty on the machines because it is offering reimbursement and will no longer be able to service them. Consumers who were previously given a second machine thanks to a warranty will only be eligible for reimbursement on one machine, the company said.
Consumers will be able to keep their machines if they choose, or they can recycle for free through a prepaid mail back program being conducted by Drinkworks.
Individuals with questions or concerns about the reimbursement program are encouraged to contact Drinkworks directly by email at [email protected] or phone at 1-855-374-6596.
Keurig, another company that incorporates drink pods into its product, was the target of a class action lawsuit in 2018 that argued it falsely advertised some of its K-Cup single-serving coffee pods as being recyclable.
The plaintiff in the case, a California woman named Kathleen Smith, argued that Keurig Green Mountain K-Cup pods were too small to be recycled despite labeling stating they could be.

I also filled out all of the reimbursement forms on time and received a claim number. I’ve never received any emails after that only to find out here that many others have not received reimbursement either. Count me in if there’s a class action lawsuit against them!
My husband boy’s grandson my drinkwork machine March of 2019 for my birthday. I too am having the issue of mine not chilling. I’ve taken all necessary steps to try and fix it but have not been successful. I am not stuck with this machine with tons of pods that cannot use. If anyone knows how to fix the problem please share.
I was not notified about the recall. I just found out when I went to SPEC’s to get the Co2.
I’m very disappointed!
I had no idea that the product was discontinued until I called about an issue with my machine in December. My machine wasn’t chilling and he asked if I knew what was going on with Drinkworks. I said no? he said they are discontinuing the product and that he cant send me a new machine. He did send me the link to file a claim, so I did, but have yet to see any kind of money. Now I have a machine with 30+ pods that I cant use and just have to throw everything away. Wish there was something we could do.
I did everything they requested, never received a refund/reimbursement. My machines were registered. Kroll was extremely rude. Definitely need a class action for the thousands of us that did not receive the reimbursement. They broke a binding contract via their warranty.
I filed all paperwork in January for my refund and never got it. I called, emailed and was told back in March it was being processed and I would have it soon, but they completely closed down and I never received my refund…. Bad company!
Horrible company!!!!! I’m registered with DrinkWorks and they failed to communicate. Do the right thing!!!! Frustrating!!!!
I purchased the Drinkworks machine for a Christmas present for my husband and then before he could even open it, I read a news article stating that they were discontinuing and would offer everyone a reimbursement. I wasted over $300 for this machine in addition to everything else that was purchased with it. I am furious as I submitted for the reimbursement and have my reimbursement ID and now none of the phone numbers or websites are no longer working. When submitting the reimbursement claim, I had to submit the payment method which was my PayPal account and nothing.
I also didn’t receive any email notice or anything very frustrated and disappointed how can I receive a refund.
I agree with all the comments and we should have been notified formally and not through media or Twitter. Some people, like me, don’t have Twitter, nor search random happenings. I purchased my unit in 2018/2019 from Drinkworks and registered it on the site. I purchased my pods on the site. I had pods on auto ship as well. I certainly got marketing emails so why not tell me what was happening in December 2021. The two month period to get the recovery reimbursement is a joke. Why not follow standard recall timing? Why not 6 months? Why not contact people registered formally? I think this could be a good class action since the company did not seek bancruptcy and should be early still in the dissolution stage. I don’t want to be penalized because I don’t use Twitter. I was a long time customer and they had all my contact information.
What a shady company. I am running low on pods so I went to the website to see if the places that sell them was updated. No website. Found out they discontinued it. I also ordered directly through keurig. They never notified me about the refund program. This thing is useless now. Is there anything we can do?
Perhaps contact the Consumer Protection Agency? Or see if any lawyers bite on class action.
Agree, we should have received official notification especially since we were required to register the machine upon purchase. The company obviously had contact information for every owner. I believe the reimbursement should be offered to those who were not notified.
