Consumers can get up to $20 from a Kona Beer class action settlement resolving claims that the Kona Beers are not actually made in Hawaii.

In their complaint, plaintiffs Theodore Broomfield and Simone Zimmer alleged that the company used deceptive representations to portray the Kona Beers as being made in Hawaii when they were allegedly brewed in New Hampshire, Oregon, Tennessee, and Washington state facilities.

In May 2019, Craft Brew Alliance, Inc. agreed to settle these claims.

Under the settlement, class members can recover up to $10 per household if they do not provide proof of purchase and up to $20 per household if they do provide proof of purchase. Proof of purchase may include receipts, a copy of the UPC from the Kona Beer package(s), a copy of the purchase on a credit card statement, and other valid documentation.

In order to receive payment from the Kona Beer class action settlement, Class Members need to submit a valid claim by Oct. 7, 2019. The deadline for exclusion and objection is also Oct. 7, 2019. The final approval hearing for the Kona Beer class action settlement is scheduled for Dec. 19, 2019.
