Invention Submission Corp. has agreed to a $3 million class action lawsuit settlement with those who purchased services from InventHelp or Western InventHelp and claim the company misrepresented those services.

The class is made up of all U.S. residents who purchased services from Submission Corp. (doing business as InventHelp), or Western Invention Submission Corp. (doing business as Western InventHelp), from Jan. 1, 2014, to June 30, 2021.

InventHelp, headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, has been helping inventors submit invention ideas to companies since 1984, according to the company’s website

However, the plaintiffs in three class action lawsuits claim InventHelp has not always provided the promised services.

The defendants submit their clients’ inventions or product ideas, in exchange for a fee, to obtain a review to see if those ideas or inventions can be commercialized, one of the class actions states. However, the firms also allegedly fail to disclose they do not have any “reasonable and systematic” procedures in place to ensure their data bank does not include companies that are no longer in operation and do not actually match their clients to companies most likely to be interested in a given idea.

In addition, the defendants allegedly do not provide disclosures as mandated under the American Investors Protection Act of 1999.

The defendants have denied allegations of wrongdoing but have agreed to the settlement to avoid the risks and costs associated with continuing litigation.

Under the terms of the InventHelp class action lawsuit settlement agreement, class members who file a claim are eligible to receive a cash payment.

Class members who submit a claim will receive a pro rata payment of up to $250 from the net settlement fund.

Fully paid BIP Agreement Customers who submit a valid and timely claim form will receive an additional $20.

Each not-fully-paid BIP Agreement Customer who submits a claim will receive a $20 credit, in addition to payment from the settlement fund, against any outstanding balance owed. The credit will cancel the debt if the balance is less than $20.

SUB Agreement Customers Not Fully Paid and Open who submit a claim form will receive an $800 credit or $3,000 in services in addition to their payment from the settlement fund for any outstanding balance owed to the defendants. If the unpaid balance is less than $800, the credit will cancel the entire remaining debt.

Among the $3,000 in services is the inclusion of class members’ ideas or inventions in the Virtual Invention Browsing Experience (VIBE) at either the 2023 or 2024 national licensing show. The idea or invention will also be included in a curated catalog InventHelp will distribute to about 50 companies in its data bank within a year of the settlement becoming final.

The deadline to opt out of or object to the InventHelp lawsuit settlement is Jan. 6, 2023.

The final approval hearing is scheduled for Feb. 1, 2023.

Claim forms must be submitted no later than Jan. 6, 2023.

  1. Thomas Christenson says:

I paid Invent Help $24,000 and I was ripped off. Looks like ill be getting ripped off again from the CROOKED Attorneys who were supposed to have been working for the people, instead they are stuffing there own pockets. I had a new idea for windows and doors for security and style and instead of sending my invention to window and door manufactures and the like, they would send it to companies that either didnt exist or went out of business and sometimes sending it to businesses that werent even closely related, like, a pottery business or a nursery that sold trees. Invent Help is the biggest ripoff along with these shady lawyers who got paid under the table from Invent Help!!!!!!

  2. Betty Addison (for David Addison) says:

We do we get or know how much we are getting

  3. David L Tolbert III says:

I agree completely with the above statement about the lawyers coming up and being made whole while the Oxman law firm did all the work. Someone tell me how this law firm got these class action lawsuits let alone what the original damages and we end up with the short end of the stick. Now I also sacrificed putting my own family on 2nd base to pursue my dream to a viable solution for ending mass shooting and saving and paying over 30,000 in total with 3 separate 3,000 down payments for 3 separate blue books to end up back on zero to still have to start from scratch again while absolutely nothing changes. Ohh I forgot we get to give them the settlement money back to them and trust them that they will do there job this time.

  5. Nick Vance Prichard says:

Hello my name is Nick Prichard,
I’m in let’s sue whoever we need to sue. These cutthroats at Invent Help got over $12,000 from my wife and me. Here is the kicker at the time we were living out of our car the only finances were from her SSDI check which isn’t very much. The long of the short is Invent Help reminded me of the Closers in the movie Glengarry Ross. Remember the line “coffee is for closers only” I mean its the way they went about it knowing our situation (we let them know we couldn’t afford it they said they’d work with us, but came up with a payment plan while our friend Mark loaned us $7,500 for services never rendered) Invent Help (I.H) just kept calling us about Money, Money Money trying to get a Close. then the next thing you know we’re in collections while still paying. The saddest part of the story wasn’t being Homeless or believing in Invent Help. It was our dear friend Mark whom passed away due to Covid 19. Through all of this we still believed in our invention KoolFlex”N no matter what. But with Invent Help Until our calls to their service dept called “Client Services” a different person you would speak to every time with different answers & mixed Info from that Dept. for years. Absolutely Zero Progress especially when you’re in a 2-year time restraint doing Ziltch! Invent Help in my opinion is what you call a Boiler Room… Anyways enough of that. All of Us are being treated unfairly again, while they are acting like their doing us a favor by Insulting us While we get the short end of the Deal again Sound Familiar? Please if anyone is Down to do something about this please call me at (702)544-6355. I WANT IN, let’s make it what’s right, Right…

    1. Latonia Gover says:

Invent while Iam in SSDI had me pay $2,000 to sign contract so that $2,000 and $310 a month for almost 2 years during covid and my rent was raised they sent me a book in the beginning showing that millions of people overseas would benefit from my idea yet when they sent me stuff it was not from over seas it was all here sent me these things as tho it still a good idea when I realize it was no need for it I ask about the overseas and I sent in 2 companies names it got to the point with my rent increase $200 it was them it me and feeling stupid realizing it was not real was worse I just wanted to die with my savings u gave them n all those payments and nothing and it was never going to be nothing the influences my decision with those statistics from overseas and not one company on that list is from overseas

  6. VAL D FAUNTLEROY says:

for all the money i lost will get a very -very small dab back. i paid in full all fees and it hurts to get a dab back . oh well.

  7. Diana Myers says:

    Wow I can’t believe this😢😢😢😢
Me and my husband got burned from this company. We don’t have money to waste. We have a family we are trying to leave a legacy for our children NOT GET BURN. SMH THIS IS NOT COOL .

  8. Louie says:

Invent Help first told me that they were cutting me a deal because of Covid,it took me five months of fighting it. They said they never said that. I also tried calling some of the companies that they reached out to and no one ever got back to me. So I asked Invent Help about it and they said because they have special codes they won’t talk to anyone else, I don’t have money to throw away,I don’t have any money to do this anymore with a little hope all our prayers come through or they really are not honest and I’m a big dummy

  9. Lee says:

Has anyone seen the amount that the lawyers are asking for for themselves. This is how they are justifying their asking

“After over four years of hard-fought litigation, Class Counsel secured a significant
settlement that combines both economic and remedial relief that directly addresses Plaintiffs’
claims in the litigation, including cash and credit relief relating to Class Members’ contracts,
additional invention promotion services, credit repair and negative tradeline deletion request
    services”

    “Class
Counsel respectfully seek the Court’s final approval of attorneys’ fees in the amount of
$1,500,000.00, reimbursement of Class Counsels’ out-of-pocket expenses in an amount up to
$150,000.00, and modest service awards of $3,000.00 for each of the Class Representatives. ”

Looks like there are about 5 or 6 lawyers. So you mean to tell me they each are getting over $250,000 while the people that actually put their money and savings into this company, sacrificed their credit scores and so on, are only getting $250-$$300 and a $3,000 credit with an appearance in there upcoming catalog? BUUUULLLLL!!! Lets not forget the original amount was $36 million and the lawyers that are representing US allowed a settlement of only $3 mill.

    1. Lashaun Miller says:

That’s what I said @Lee!..We’re being Ripped Off Twice!!!..We’re not even getting back ..The money we put in…A bunch of bs either way!..Why are the lawyers that claim..To be getting Justice for us..Then ripping us off..How is this fair?..If they are really trying to be just and helpful..And correcting a wrong..Why not take less money..So that the actual clients..Eho put their money on the line..Can get a better settlement amount..Why would you guys get more money?..Than the ppl you’re claim to be helping?..Like you said..”BULL!!”

    2. Will says:

So you mean that we on get less than a 1000 plus some so credit for a show…This is a bunch of bull after all we invested for Ideas!

    3. Julio says:

Lee, this doesn’t look good. I think the FBI, needs to check this out.

      1. Nathan Marlett says:

No, let’s get 60 minutes involved

  10. Todd Huffman says:

Their settlement isn’t shit I paid them over 14000 two times
