Illinois Innovative Heights employees whose biometrics the company collected without their consent could benefit from a $285,000 Innovative Heights settlement.

The settlement benefits Innovative Heights employees who scanned one or more fingers into a computer system at Innovative Heights between April 29, 2014, and April 23, 2024.

According to plaintiffs in the class action lawsuit, Innovative Heights failed to get employee consent before collecting their fingerprints through time clock systems. The class action lawsuit claims Innovative Heights violated Illinois’ Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA).

Innovative Heights is a trampoline park in Fairview Heights, Illinois.

Innovative Heights hasn’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to the $285,000 settlement to resolve the BIPA class action lawsuit.

Under the terms of the Innovative Heights settlement, consumers can receive an equal share of the net settlement fund. Exact payments will vary depending on the number of participating class members, but each consumer is estimated to receive around $650.

The deadline for exclusion and objection is July 15, 2024.

The final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for August 21, 2024.

No claim form is required to receive Innovative Heights settlement benefits. Class members who do not exclude themselves will automatically receive settlement payments.
