Ferrara Candy Company agreed to pay $1.5 million to settle a class action lawsuit that accuses the business of discriminating against potential workers simply because they are African-American.
Plaintiffs Brian Lucas, Aronzo Davis, Torrence Vaughans and Maurice Milton filed the class action lawsuit on behalf of themselves and all others seeking employment at the Ferrara Candy Company, either directly or through two staffing agencies known as Labor Power and REM.
According to the lawsuit, the company limited or completely excluded African-American workers from being hired by Ferrara for positions of Machine Operator, Mogul Cook, Engrosser, Janitor, Quality Control Technician or Shipping Clerk.
The plaintiffs claim that they were steered away from available jobs at Ferrara by the staffing agencies who instead hired Latinos for those positions.
Ferrara, Labor Power and REM denied all allegations of wrongdoing but decided to settle the class action lawsuit to avoid the cost of further litigation.
Whoโs Eligible
The Ferrara Candy class action settlement is open to all Ferrara Direct Applicant Class Members and all African-Americans who sought a work assignment through REM or through Labor Power and were otherwise eligible to work at Ferrara but were not assigned or hired to work at the company between Feb. 27, 2009 and Dec. 22, 2015.

Did you get tax forms?
Top class actions, you are 100% correct. I was just told nothing is going to happen until 30 days pass.
Not true I was told within 30 days and no appeal wait talk to Chris Williams at workers law firm today
DID CHRIS SAY HOW MUCH CHECKS WILL BE TO VALAID CLAIMS?
For a person to always knows you really dont know lolbs checks will be released after 30 days ppl happy Good way to bring in New years!
How can we find out a date when the money will be mailed out and how much will it be?
After final approval, there is a 30 day period in which appeals can be filed. Claims will not be paid until after this 30 day period expires. No word on the exact amount to be paid to each claimant. A document filed with the court on November 16, 2016 states that there are 904 eligible claimants. Several viewers have estimated the payout to be around $1k per claimant. However, we have not confirmed this. Please keep checking Top Class Actions for updates. We are following the case, and will let our viewers know as soon as we learn that checks are in the mail!

I donโt know what to say about how you are so helpful with giving us correct info.so all I know to say is THANK you so much.I notice comments are posted most on how much.My question is to be most corcern about (am I approved).due to 904 eligible claimants, which is not a lot.so if you are able find out was there any claims denied,it will be highly appreciated.
Top Class Actions have you guys heard anything about how much the claimant will each get from the settlement.
