A $1.57 million settlement has been proposed in a class action lawsuit alleging BrokerPriceOpinion.com Inc., First Valuation LLC, First Valuation Services LLC, First Valuation Technology LLC, Cartel Asset Management LLC, Walter Coats and ValuTech Inc., which operate the website BrokerPriceOpinion.com, failed to pay brokers for BPOs they completed on the defendants’ behalf.
If you completed broker price opinions on behalf of BrokerPriceOpinion, First Valuation, Cartel Asset Management, Walter Coats or ValuTech since Dec. 2, 2007 and have not been paid for your services, you may be entitled to compensation from the class action settlement.
BrokerPriceOpinion.com is a website that provides real estate valuation data. The defendants reportedly advertise that their network of more than 95,000 licensed brokers and appraisers provide its “industry-leading” broker price opinions.
The proposed BrokerPriceOpinion settlement will resolve a class action lawsuit alleging the defendants breached contractual agreements with real estate professionals by failing to pay brokers according to the terms of the agreements.
The BrokerPriceOpinion class action lawsuit also alleges the defendants were unjustly enriched by their failure to pay for the broker price opinions.
The plaintiffs allege that more than 15,600 licensed real estate professionals have performed work for BrokerPriceOpinion but have not been paid in accordance with the defendants’ payment terms. According to the BrokerPriceOpinion class action lawsuit, the defendants owe licensed real estate professionals amounts ranging from several hundred dollars to several thousand dollars.
In addition to offering payment to eligible Class Members, BrokerPriceOpinion has also agreed to change its business practices to pay brokers within 90 days for every broker price opinion they complete. BrokerPriceOpinion also agreed not to use standardized calling scripts, emails, or other communications in attempt to delay payment or change payment terms for broker price opinions.
The defendants deny any wrongdoing but agreed to settle the BrokerPriceOpinion class action lawsuit to avoid the burden and expense of ongoing litigation.
Class Members who would like to opt out of or object to the BrokerPriceOpinion class action settlement must do so no later than Oct. 31, 2017.

The BrokerPriceOpinion class action settlement received preliminary approval on Aug. 2, 2017.

I took this company to small claims court and won for 1719.00 back in June. Still no response.. I am not sure if they are even in business anymore. Does anyone know?
I am owed $380.00 for (6) BPO’s completed since August 2019 (not knowing about the failure to pay by them). Anyone filing a lawsuit for 2019 BPO’s payments owed via Class Action? Count me IN!
Who can we contact? No money from them and the promise of 90 payments at settlement for future BPOs never happened.
I filed my claim – still haven’t heard from nor received any payment – today is August 31, 2019!! $950 bucks of MY time Wasted on this Criminal Company, and I’ve never received a call or reply from this lawfirm, either! Great bunch of people the State of California Attorney Bar Association has licensed to practice law – NOT!!

Got my 1st check today for $31.06 even after the total of 5 payments, settlement will not suffice to get a third of what this company owes me.
Went to the company to collect today, Sept 13,2018. Actually spoke to Brandy who blamed the former bookkeeper for all the trouble. Yeah, right. I had notified her in advance that I was coming up as I have been trying to collect a balance sine May. I am going to try and find the Federal judge and tell him they are not complying with the terms of the lawsuit. I had sent a demand through the attornies a month ago without response. Agents keep pressing. A complaint to the Colorado attorney general might help too. You won’t get paid, but perhaps this level of embezzlement could rise to criminal for Mr. Coats. I would love to see him in Canon City Federal prison for this. I know of 2 people who ran Ponzi scheme for less money who ended up there.
If there is a person assigned to make sure that this doesn’t continue, why has it happened to me after the deadline. Will someone reply and let me what my options are
I’m in the same boat as the prior comment. Having started work for this company 2/18 and they are still doing the same thing to me. Owe me for 31 orders to the tune of $1850. Very frustrating. I now know that the deadline has passed but can can anything be done for those who came after. Illinois
Any updates? I filed claim before deadline, the final hearing was in May 2018 and no additional updates provided on http://www.brokerpricesettlement.com
This company has already stopped making payments again. I’m having to chase the money they Owe for work completed several months ago.
