Details: The Lawnmower Class Action Lawsuit Settlement covers most lawnmowers purchased in the U.S. and Puerto Rico in the past 16 years. There are some manufacturers not included in the Lawn mower Class Action Lawsuit but we anticipate them settling (or losing in court) within the next two years. If you’re not covered by this settlement don’t worry! You’ll likely be covered by one in the next one – two years.

So, who’s included in the Lawn mower Class Action Lawsuit?

Your lawnmower is included if your engine was manufactured by:

Or, your lawnmower is included if your lawnmower was manufactured by:
Deer Lawn Mower

EHP Lawn Mower
Honda Lawn Mower
Husqvarna Lawn Mower
MTD Lawn Mower
Sears Lawn Mower
Toro Lawn Mower

Brands manufactured by these companies include, but are not limited to:

As you can tell the Lawnmower Class Action covers the majority of lawnmowers purchased in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. The Lawnmower Settlement includes both a cash benefit AND adds a one year extended warranty to your lawnmower. This could be especially important to those whose lawnmowers are older and may need repair.

The Lawnmower Class Action claims that the Defendants sold certain gasoline-powered lawn mowers and lawn mower engines with false and misleading horsepower ratings. It doesn’t involve the safety of the lawnmowers. You are a Class Member in the Lawnmower Settlement if you live in the United States or Puerto Rico and between January 1, 1994 and April 12, 2010, you purchased a lawn mower containing a gas combustible engine up to 30 horsepower for your own use (and not for resale). Either the lawn mower or the engine of the lawn mower must have been manufactured or sold by a Defendant.

The Lawnmower Settlements include walk-behind and riding lawn mowers where either the lawnmower engine was manufactured by a Defendant, including all these Defendants’ brands (partial list): Yard-Man, Cub Cadet, Honda, Bolens, Exmark, Deere, Sabre, Scotts, Toro, Yard Machines, Craftsman, Troy Bilt, Husqvarna, Poulan, Poulan PRO, Lawn-Boy, Weed Eater, White Outdoor, Snapper, Simplicity, Brute, Murray, and numerous other brands that have engines made by Briggs & Stratton, Tecumseh, Kawasaki, Honda or Kohler.

So, what can you expect to receive in the Lawnmower Class Action Settlement? Those who purchased a walk behind mower can receive up to $35 and those who purchased a riding lawnmower can receive up to $75. In addition, you will receive a one-year extended engine warranty if you own a lawn mower containing an engine manufactured and originally warranted by Briggs & Stratton, Toro, Tecumseh, TecumsehPower, Kawasaki, or Kohler. To qualify, your Briggs & Stratton, Toro, Tecumseh, TecumsehPower, Kawasaki, or Kohler manufactured engine must have had a manufacturer’s warranty at the time of purchase

I too filled out all the required paperwork. And I’ve been trying, for weeks, to contact “a human being” to find out when I get my portion of the settlement; and, -nothing–zip, nada–the attorneys seem to have set up a firewall to prevent us from receiving the settlement. So, who now represents “we the people” on this matter? E. Hari, Cerritos, CA

Lawn Mower Class Action Lawsuit Settlement
Where in the world are the settlement checks? I feel like I need to hire an attorney to place a claim against the attorneys who handled the settlements? The web site provides very little information and there is never a live person to talk to just some recording that has spewed out the same rhetoric for months. First it said checks would come in March, than April now it says Middle of May. This is ridiculous! The lawyers made millions on this and they cant cut the checks in a timely manner!

Lawn Mower Class Action Lawsuit Settlement
It seems to me we need a lawyer to talk to the lawyers who made all the money. And they wonder why they are detested so much.

They promise you something and by the time they get their cut we end up with nothing. Typical scam artists. And to think obama will do nothing to rein them in.

The only thing we did was to make them look better because the won a case so they can show others and then scam them.

Lawn Mower Class Action Lawsuit Settlement
I think we should initiate a lawsuit against Vincent J. Esades of Heins Mills & Olson, P.L.C and Brian M. Sund
Morrison Fenske & Sund, P.A.. Seem like these bastards ended up with all the money. I think they misled the people as much if not more then the lawnmower manufacturers. I recieved my check today and received $10.10 for a yardman push mower and $21.84 for a cub cadet riding mower. It took me a few hours to dig up all the info and I figure I donated more to the scum of the earth lawyers than anything. Never again… I can’t wait to see all the lawsuits filed against these greedy parasitic lawyers who hastled all the people. Also hope you all know that the only ones who made out were Vincent J. Esades who sounds like a foreigner and Brian M. Sund who’s name sounds gay. The costs of mowers will go up so these two a-holes can live it up while the rest of us suffer.

Lawn Mower Class Action Lawsuit Settlement
Looks like the lawyers win again… I had 2 claims on a walk behind and a rider, instead of $110, I got $32.03… This is all BS, as they must be in bed with each other… When the Briggs engine in my rider took a dump it cost me over $800 to get it replaced and of course Ariens said it wasn’t covered, with less than 100 hrs on the regularly maintained engine…. Mfg. winner…Lawyers, bigger winner… Consumer, screwed again…

Lawn Mower Class Action Lawsuit Settlement
    >:o Just received my large check for $21.84. Very interesting now to read the final order from way back in August, 2010 – took months to issue the checks! Wonder if it took as long to issue the multi-million dollar checks to the legal counsel?? Suspicious when they indicated there was a potential of 68 million class members and final was 1,058,693. So if they projected that number in the beginning, how could they now reduce the $75 to $21 based on more claims than expected? And why didn’t the Judge place as much importance and research on qualifying/quantifying the class member payments as she did with counsel payments? I agree, we should now file suit against these two legal firms, they presented papers to the Judge documenting their greed – why didn’t they support the class members getting the original amounts? Then they pay $1,000 to 132 persons for essentially doing nothing in most cases.

Lawn Mower Class Action Lawsuit Settlement

  • rob banack July 15, 2013

NO MONEY, NO WARRANTY WORK DONE AND MY 1195.00 mower does not run well when i get it going, it is only 3.5 years old. THE LAWYERS SHOULD BE SUED. Can’t trust or believe Lawyers, used car salesman.

  • Tracy Wagner September 9, 2013

I still have not received a dime after submitting my information in June of 2010. The 877 number is no longer in service.

  • Peggy Wiesneth October 22, 2013

I was a member of this class action suit. I received a letter on jan 24, 2012 saying that they were unable to issue me a check because the information I previously submitted about my lawnmower was insufficient or incomplete. I submitted the engine ID # again and called the 1-877-773-8196 number thereafter and was told I was to get a check for 10.19 on 4/23/12. I waited sometime and when i called the number again it was no longer vaild. I would appreciate someone looking into this matter and why I was never compensated for this lawsuit.
    Thank you

  • Eric Poulsen November 13, 2013

wow. Now there seems to be confusion. Some seem to have gotten paid a fraction of the state value and other nothing at all. I like everyone else spent the time to find the serial # and mail in my claim form. Now that the class action is settled, nobody can be found. Can this be right?? Should we notify the mower companies that they were scammed or ask to reopen the suit? Maybe send a letter to the AG or Bar Assoc in the state where the law firm practices.

  • Eric Wittig July 19, 2014

I filled out my Online Claim Form on my walk behind lawnmower as requested on 4/09/10 and here it is 7/19/14 and have not recieved a word on this settlement. I have not recieved a check or any information reqarding this situation. Is this another scam? If I don’t hear anything regarding this I will take this to the media and let them know what kind of scam this is. This will not only reflect Sears/Craftsman………but also the law firm regarding this and the USA legal institution as well!

  • Michael Campbell July 24, 2014

I rec’d a post card back that said my mower didn’t exist. It is on the list and the numbers of mower and engine were correct. What a rip off. I wasted postage so someone could keep a couple of dollars
