The settlement benefitted California Bumble users who used the app as a man interested in women between May 29, 2016, and July 1, 2021.

According to the Bumble class action lawsuit, the dating app discriminated against men interested in women by only allowing women to send messages first. An equal app would allow any user to send a message first, regardless of gender, the Bumble class action lawsuit contends.

Bumble did not admit any discrimination but agreed to resolve these allegations with a $1.3 million class action settlement.

Under the terms of the settlement, class members could receive 20 free Bumble “SuperSwipes” on their account and a pro rata share of the net settlement fund.

In order to receive a payment from the settlement, class members had to file a valid claim form by Nov. 9, 2021.

The settlement benefits consumers who purchased optical disk drives in 23 states between April 2003 and December 2008.

According to a class action lawsuit, electronic companies such as Sony, Panasonic and Hitachi-LG violated antitrust laws with a massive price-fixing agreement. As a result of this agreement, indirect purchasers of optical disk drives allegedly paid more for the products than they would have in a fair market.

Defendants in the case agreed to several settlements, bringing the total settlement fund to $180 million. Certain defendants have not settled, meaning plaintiffs are still litigating the antitrust class action lawsuit against these companies.

Under the terms of the price-fixing settlement, class members could receive a cash payment based on the number of drives they purchased. Payments were estimated at around $10 per purchased drive.

In order to receive a payment, class members had to file a claim form with the settlement by June 28, 2019.

The Optical disk drive antitrust class action lawsuit is In re: Optical Disk Drive Antitrust Litigation, Case No. 3:10-md-2143-RS, in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, San Francisco Division.

The settlement benefits consumers who purchased various Welch’s juice products between March 23, 2016, and Oct. 1, 2021. The settlement covered Welch’s 100% Grape Juice Concord Grape, Welch’s 100% Juice Red Sangria and Welch’s 100% Black Cherry Concord Grape Juice.

According to plaintiffs in the Welch’s class action lawsuit, these products were falsely advertised as able to support a healthy heart. In reality, these claims are not supported by scientific evidence, the class action contends.

Welch Food agreed to resolve these allegations with a $1.5 million class action lawsuit. Under the terms of the settlement, class members could receive around $1 per product. With proof of purchase, consumers could claim up to 12 products for a maximum payment of $12.

In order to receive a payment, claims had to be filed by March 7, 2022.

The Welch’s class action lawsuit is Hanson, et al. v. Welch Foods Inc., Case No. 3:20-cv-02011-JCS, in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California.

The settlement benefits consumers who purchased cardboard boxes of candies between Feb. 9, 2013, and Sept. 23, 2021. Eligible candies were Raisinets, Buncha Crunch, Butterfinger Bites, Toll House Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels, Rainbow Nerds, SweeTarts, Spree, Sno-Caps, Runts and Gobstoppers.

According to a class action lawsuit against Ferrara Candy Co. and Nestle USA, these candies are routinely underfilled. Although some “slack fill” is expected in order to protect the candies, plaintiffs contend that they would not have purchased the products if they knew how much empty space was in each cardboard box.

The defendants agree to resolve these allegations with a $3.7 million settlement. Under the terms of the settlement, class members could receive a projected $0.50 per product for maximum payments of $8. Actual payments ended up higher, at $20 per class member.

The deadline to file a claim with the settlement was Dec. 27, 2021.

The Ferrara Nestle slack fill class action lawsuit is Thomas, et al. v. Nestle USA Inc., et al., Case No. BC649863 in the Superior Court of the State of California for the County of Los Angeles.
