Update from the President of TCAJanuary has flown by. How are your New Years Resolutions going? Are you sticking with them? I’m down 15 pounds and will keep the momentum going. I need to drop another 15 pounds to hit my target weight of 215. I’m 6’7” tall so 215 is good for me. How are you doing? On the class action lawsuit front, we are running the internet side of the class action notice campaign for the CertainTeed Organic Shingles class action lawsuit. This is the second online class action notice campaign we’re running which was approved by the Federal Court. In addition, I’d like to note that the Google Book class action lawsuit settlement’s deadline to submit a claim has been extended to March 31st, 2011. This class action has received a lot of press and may change further this year. Also, the DeBeers Diamond Class Action Lawsuit Settlement which closed back in 2008 may actually pay out in May or June. The settlement was challenged, delaying payment for everyone, but it appears the Judge may throw out the challenges as they’re very small claims by less than five people and are holding up distribution of hundreds of millions of dollars to those who support the settlement. We’ll see! Stay healthy and don’t forget to donate $10 to the Red Cross to help out Haiti. It’s easy. Just text “Haiti” to 90999 on your cell phone and follow the instructions. I did.
