Consumers who received printed receipts from Diamond Wireless LLC that contained their credit card expiration date are receiving checks in the mail this week from a class action settlement over allegedl Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act (FACA) violations.
Viewers are reporting on TopClassAction.com’s Facebook page that checks worth $24.08 were mailed on Tuesday to Class Members who participated in the Diamond Wireless FACTA class action settlement:
The Diamond Wireless FACTA settlement checks are from a class action lawsuit (Ronald C. Betten v. Diamond Wireless LLC) that alleged the Verizon cell phone retailer printed receipts that contained credit card expiration dates in violation of the Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act. The plaintiffs alleged Diamond Wireless willfully violated FACTA by printing the full expiration dates on customers’ credit or debit card receipts between April 24, 2011 and July 30, 2013.
Diamond Wireless denies any wrongdoing but agreed to settle the class action lawsuit to avoid the expense and uncertainty of ongoing litigation.
The deadline to file a claim for the Diamond Wireless class action settlement was April 8, 2014. [See our claim filing instructions here.]
The Diamond Wireless class action settlement received final approval on June 12, 2014.
