Leading artificial intelligence companies Amazon, Anthropic, Google, Inflection, Meta, Microsoft, and OpenAI have agreed to abide by safe AI rules as the technology companies convened at the White House on Friday to announce the parameters of the agreement.

The companies voluntarily agreed to a list of requirements for developing and AI deployment that included internal and external testing before AI deployment, sharing information across both the industry and governments regarding the technology, informing the public on what the AI can and cannot do before it is released and investments in cybersecurity and insider threat safeguards.

The safe AI technology testing will be conducted first internally but also by independent experts to guard against large AI technology concerns, biosecurity and cybersecurity, but also to analyze the broader societal effects of the AI deployment.

“These commitments, which the companies have chosen to undertake immediately, underscore three principles that must be fundamental to the future of AI – safety, security, and trust – and mark a critical step toward developing responsible AI,” a White House statement said. “As the pace of innovation continues to accelerate, the Biden-Harris Administration will continue to remind these companies of their responsibilities and take decisive action to keep Americans safe.”

The companies also agreed to have easily accessible reporting systems to be informed of issues after the AI deployment.

Companies will mark AI-generated content, report inappropriate use and address society’s greatest challenges, safe AI agreement says

The technology companies agreed to mark AI-generated content and also report areas of appropriate and inappropriate use while committing to use the technology to address some of society’s greatest challenges such as cancer prevention and mitigating climate change. The safe AI agreement also requires companies to research societal risks and work to prevent harmful bias in AI deployment.

Senators Josh Hawley, R-Mo., and Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., introduced a bill in late June that would remove  immunity under section 230 of the Communications Act for claims related to artificial intelligence content and make social media companies liable for harmful content created with AI.

This is not right the AI at amazon is shutting down thousands of accounts and taking the gift card money and not returning it. Also they are not giving a reason to why peoples accounts are closed. There are people who had Amazon for years no issues then all of the sunnden many many accounts are being closed. It is really making a lot of people mad and amazon losing much money every day, they are doing nothing to help the consumers.
