A boy is praying in a church.A new lawsuit argues that a previous Catholic Church abuse report was ignored or hidden by church officials.

One victim argues in the Catholic Church abuse report lawsuit that church officials aware of the problems failed to take action that would have prevented others from being subjected to priest abuse.

The Catholic Church lawsuit says the church went out of their way to conceal the allegations inside the Catholic Church abuse report.

The lawsuit was filed by a man under a pseudonym alleging that he was abused while serving as an altar boy at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dalton, Georgia between the ages of 12 and 15. The lawsuit alleges that the church hid knowledge of the sexual abuse.

The lawsuit argues that the man’s Catholic Church sex abuse report should have been shared by the Archdiocese of Atlanta, and that the failure to report the sexual abuse was a nuisance to the public because it likely put others at risk.

The failure to act on the report of priest abuse Catholic church abuse report was specifically lodged against Saint Joseph’s, the archdiocese, and archbishop of Atlanta, Wilton Gregory. Wilton Gregory has presided over the archdiocese since 2005.

The lawsuit indicates that one clergy member of the church, in particular, was responsible for supervising altar boys, including the one who filed the lawsuit.  He claims that the abuse took place from 1976 to 1978.

Although that clergy member passed away in 1997, the Catholic Church abuse report lawsuit explains that the crimes involved sexual molestation.

The priest allegedly owned a house on a lake that would bring altar boys to for meetings and practices.

The plaintiff who filed the lawsuit says that he has continued to suffer from psychological and emotional problems, in addition to a loss of spirituality and faith as a result of being victimized while he was an innocent child.

The lawsuit also states that the alleged behavior enabled a dangerous environment to exist. The victim says he never shared concerns about the alleged abuse to officials at the church, but the lawsuit says that the church and other staff members were aware of the ongoing abuse and failed to take action to stop it.

The victims and their family members say that the church knew this was a rampant problem in the church in many states but did not penalize those carrying out the abuse for their behavior or take any positive steps to stop it.

Allegations of sexual abuse by priests continues to haunt the Catholic Church.

A Catholic Church sexual abuse class action lawsuit was filed in Pittsburgh in late 2018 saying that there was a massive cover-up by church officials in Pennsylvania of sexual abuse.

The class action lawsuit was filed after a Pennsylvania grand jury released a report detailing the corruption in the Pennsylvania Catholic Church that went into covering up the sexual abuse of more than 1,000 victims.
