Pearls YB Probiotic Supplements Class Action Lawsuit Investigation
By Andrea Gressman
There are a number of reasons why people turn to probiotic supplements. Some have turned to a healthier lifestyle and want to use more natural products to improve their health. Others are trying to counterbalance some of the toxins, fast food, and stress they expose their bodies to every day. Others take probiotic supplements because they are trying to balance things like overly acidic pH levels that can create yeast sensitivity.
Regardless of the reason people choose to use probiotics, it has been scientifically proven that probiotics do help to improve certain elements of a person’s overall health, namely their digestive health. However, it becomes a problem when the manufacturers of a probiotic supplement do not use the proper amounts of bacteria in the product, essentially making them worthless for their advertised use.
The probiotic industry is not regulated by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and therefore there are no regulations set in place when it comes to the amount of bacteria that are used probiotic supplements. That means that a probiotic manufacturer can use very little of the active ingredient if they so choose and there aren’t any regulations to stop them. However, this may constitute false marketing and a person that has become victim of a probiotic scam can file a probiotic fraud lawsuit to recoup their investment into the product.
Are Pearls YB Probiotic Supplements a Scam?
There are a number of claims that Schwabe North America/Enzymatic Therapy, Inc. makes about Pearls YB probiotic supplements. One of their major claims is that the probiotic product “provides triple-strength protection for your ultimate comfort.” They also go on to claim that the probiotic product contains “three types of Lactobacillus” and that these have been “clinically shown to create an intestinal environment that supports healthy yeast balance.” It claims that each capsule contains 1 billion CFU. They also claim that Pearls YB supports both vaginal and urinary tract health.
The three types of lactobacillus bacteria that this product reportedly uses include the following:
- Acidophilus
- Plantarum
- Rhamnosus
However, Pearls YB has come under fire as some consumers claim that the probiotic supplements do not work as advertised or deliver the promised relief.

I’ve used these feminine probiotic pearls and they caused bleeding every time I took them. Is that a normal effect? I doubt it. Do I qualify for a lawsuit? Please advice
