Kapsch TrafficCom and Gila agreed to a class action lawsuit settlement to resolve claims that they charged illegal fees for unpaid Riverlink toll bridge tolls.
The settlement benefits consumers whom Gila’s records indicate paid fees or penalties in relation to unpaid tolls owed for use of Riverlink toll bridges after they failed to pay a first or second toll notice and/or a violation notice that was not printed and mailed, and who were not refunded or credited the fees or penalties before Feb. 7, 2022.
According to the class action lawsuit, Kapsch TrafficCom and Gila charged unfair fees and penalties to consumers for unpaid tolls despite failing to give consumers any notice or opportunity to pay these fees. Plaintiffs in the case say they only received notice of the tolls after being charged multiple fees and penalties.
Riverlink is a toll system in Louisville, Kentucky and southern Indiana serviced by Kapsch, a toll service provider that works with Gila for payment and collection processing.
Kapsch TrafficCom and Gila haven’t admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay an undisclosed sum to resolve the toll fee class action lawsuit.
Under the terms of the settlement, class members can receive a cash payment based on the amount they paid in fees and penalties. No payment estimates are available, but each class member will receive a proportional share of the net settlement fund.
The deadline for exclusion and objection is Feb. 26, 2024.
The final approval hearing for the Riverlink toll bridge settlement is scheduled for March 26, 2024.
No claim form is required to receive settlement benefits. Class members who do not exclude themselves will automatically receive a settlement payment.

I paid my river link bills and had my car tagged last year. This year I paid some of river link bills that I owed. Then I called to see if I owed any more they said I hadn’t paided any river link bills since February of 2023 till today. I have all paided bills, they said they are no good because they got a new system and it doesn’t show any payments from 2023. I’m like wtf. Please some tell me what to do…. please add me
