Northwell Health agreed to a class action lawsuit settlement to resolve claims that it shared patient information with third parties without consent.

The Northwell Health settlement benefits a Subclass 1 of patients who logged into the FollowMyHealth patient portal or booked an appointment on Northwell’s website between Jan. 1, 2020, and Dec. 31, 2023, and a Subclass 2 who were patients between Jan. 1, 2020, and July 25, 2024.

Northwell Health is a New York-based health system that offers various services, including emergency care, cancer treatment and surgery.

According to the class action lawsuit, Northwell Health violated federal and state privacy laws by sharing patient information via pixel tracking with third parties, such as Google and Facebook. Plaintiffs in the case say that Northwell Health failed to protect their privacy and that they suffered damages as a result.

Northwell Health has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay an undisclosed sum to resolve the allegations.

Under the terms of the Northwell Health settlement, Subclass 1 members can receive a $15 payment and a 12-month subscription to privacy monitoring services.

Subclass 2 members can receive a 12-month subscription to privacy monitoring services.

The deadline for exclusion and objection is March 23, 2026.

The final approval hearing for the Northwell Health pixel tracking class action lawsuit settlement is scheduled for April 21, 2026.

To receive settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by April 20, 2026.
