UPDATE:
- This class action settlement is paying out up to $18.08 as of April 10, 2023.
- Congratulations to everyone who filed a claim and got paid!
Labrada Bodybuilding Nutrition Inc. has agreed to pay $625,000 as part of a settlement resolving a class action lawsuit alleging it misrepresented its Labrada Green Coffee Bean Extract and Labrada Garcinia Cambogia supplements. Consumers do not need proof of purchase to submit a claim.
Consumers who purchased either of these Labrada supplements in California between Feb. 2, 2012, and July 15, 2022, may be entitled to compensation from the settlement.
The Labrada class action lawsuit alleges the company’s Coffee Bean Extract and Garcinia Cambogia products are deceptively marketed as being effective weight loss supplements. Specifically, the product labels allegedly include “Fat Buster” and “Fat Loss Optimizer” claims.
These fat loss claims were purportedly backed by peer-reviewed studies that have since been retracted.
The Labrada class action lawsuit asserts claims against Labrada for allegedly violating California’s consumer protection laws.
The Labrada supplements were reportedly touted on “The Dr. Oz Show.” Dr. Oz and the television show’s producers have agreed to pay $5.25 million to settle claims the celebrity doctor fraudulently misrepresented the benefits of the Labrada supplements.
The company denies the allegations but agreed to settle the deceptive marketing class action lawsuit to avoid the burden and expense of ongoing litigation.
Class members who submit timely and valid claims will be entitled to a payment of $5 for each eligible Labrada product purchased during the class period.
Class members with proof of purchase may claim up to 10 products, for a maximum total of $50, while those without proof of purchase may claim up to four products, for a maximum total of $20.
However, payment amounts may be reduced pro rata depending on the total number of eligible claims filed.
The Labrada supplements class action settlement was preliminarily approved July 7, 2022.
Class members who would like to object to or exclude themselves from the settlement must do so no later than Nov. 11, 2022.
The final fairness hearing will be held Dec. 19, 2022.
The deadline to file a claim for the Labrada class action settlement is Nov. 11, 2022.

I visited Fremont Ca. In April. I went to Walmart once in May & once in June I bought 2 bottles of Labroda Green coffee & 2 bottles of Labrada Garcinia Combogia Suppliment. I tried filing a claim but, they want proof that I lived there. I don’t live in California I visited California & brought these items. I did not keep the receipts. So, now I can’t claim this!
