A Buckhead Parking settlement resolves claims that Georgia drivers paid excessive fees to remove vehicle boots.
The settlement benefits three subclasses: the Atlanta Movers subclass, the Barker-Stewart subclass and the Bowman subclass.
The Atlanta Movers subclass benefits individuals whose vehicles Buckhead Parking booted and who paid fines for boot removal in Union City since Feb. 9, 2012.
The Barker-Stewart subclass benefits individuals whose vehicles Buckhead Parking booted or requested to be booted in Georgia, excluding the cities of Atlanta, Decatur, Sandy Springs, Union City, Doraville, Hapeville, Morrow, Riverdale and Smyrna, and who paid fines for boot removal since Jan. 25, 2014.
The Bowman subclass benefits individuals whose vehicles Buckhead Parking booted and who paid fines for boot removal within Marietta since Nov. 14, 2014.
Plaintiffs in the class action lawsuit claim Buckhead Parking booted vehicles in Georgia parking lots in violation of state laws. This allegedly forced drivers to pay high boot removal fees.
Buckhead Parking operates parking garages and parking lots in Georgia.
Buckhead Parking has not admitted any wrongdoing but agreed to pay an undisclosed sum to resolve the boot fee class action lawsuit.
Under the terms of the settlement, class members can receive up to $400 for claims in Union City and outside of Atlanta, Decatur, Sandy Springs, Union City, Doraville, Hapeville, Morrow, Riverdale and Smyrna. Class members with claims within Marietta will receive $60.
The deadline for exclusion and objection is Feb. 2, 2025.
The final approval hearing for the settlement is scheduled for March 7, 2025.
To receive Buckhead Parking settlement benefits, class members must submit a valid claim form by Dec. 26, 2024.

Bowman subclass: individuals whose vehicles Buckhead Parking booted and who paid fines for boot removal within Marietta since Nov. 14, 2014.
